Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Layoff observation

Have you ever noticed that every single round of layoffs, there is rarely a leader over the Director level laid off? Yes, occasionally a Director will be slashed, but every layoff I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen many, including the ones the past year that were so small they were off the radar, it’s the worker bees that get the @xe. And then, not long after we’ve gotten rid of the people doing the work, those directors and above get a magical promotion! And Humana wonders why no one trusts leadership!

They are. They have unqualified, managers that dump the workloads, drink all day, hire girlfriends, at the expense for follow peers and their customers!

It maybe dying but to have any success here its not about how hard or smart you work its about who you know or who your related to that will either set you up for financial "success" or "failure". Its the Humana way.

Humana is dying. Ever since the mess with Aetna, things have gone downhill

So when you say "make you hate it" would you be referring to when they route angry callers to you or calls that are meant to bully and harass you?? Then yes absolutely they will do this to you instead of laying you off! Happened to 2 people I know. Someone needs to start documenting all this and doing something about it. I mean legally not going to HR because that's usually pointless. Bullying and harassing is illegal in the workplace. You just need to document and prove it.

Correction to the last poster- UHC is offering buyouts. No different than Humana’s early retirement offers in the Fall of 2023 or Humana at Homes’ offers in 2022. And let’s keep in mind that United health group is a company that has 400,000 employees. When you look at the overall layoff percentage, it is higher at Humana. Comparing United health group to Humana is like comparing New York City to Omaha, Nebraska.

Too many levels of management and worker bees get cut. The cuts should be for those who are poor performers and unneccesary levels of management. Actually, why not implement performance management and the slackers are weeded out so there are not so many in a RIF situation?

Well in sales they don't lay ypu off they push you out and make you hate it so you'll eventually do something to get yourself fired or make you quit. But shhhh it's a secret lol.

I just wish those who have zero skillets (basic Microsoft skills and/or communication skills) would get rif’d.

Agreed! They slash the people who do the work while at the same time advertise high paying positions that add nothing of value.

You're not looking very hard. Or it's just willful negligence on your part. I would bet that in terms of % a larger % of Director and above have been canned.
