Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

CloudWorld was a Damned If You Do/Damned If You Don't Moment for Oracle

I spoke to someone who went to CloudWorld. They were a developer and said that most of the event was marketing and there wasn't as much technical information. Given the layoffs that occurred today, it should be evident to anyone that the event was purely window dressing. Leadership's hands were tied and I bet if you asked a JM, SM, or even LJE, they would have cancelled it if the fees at the Venetian weren't too high.

My bets? Next year's customer event will be called HealthWorld or CernerWorld. Any solution without a healthcare tie-in gets either its smaller conference or like ACX, goes into maintenance mode before getting shut down altogether.

Your father's Oracle is no longer. Soon, the Oracle you knew in August 2022 will cease to exist too.

OUCH! And still under contract with Red Bull Racing, the Giants, and more. So painful.

It might move back to a 100% virtual event.

Given that they shot people right after Cloud World, they certainly can not expect any enthusiasm next year. Who would want to go when even presenters can be shot. Who would want to drive attendance to a wake?

It is if they have broken a social contract!
