I was an astronaut (I guess).
Was laid off at end of Q2, after 10 years there.
Closest office to me would be 4 hours away.
Was never asked to move, they just cut me loose with the severance pkg.
Best thing that ever happened to me.
Astronauts are people that work from home, because their position at Fiserv requires a lot of Travel.
Good luck with Nautilus PS if you get rid of the astronauts. None of them are anywhere near an office.
I guess I’m an astronaut. I’ve worked remotely since the pandemic started and later they closed my west coast office.
I know my time is coming, is the rumor true that all remote workers will be laid off by March 31st?
After 26 years, I’m hopefully close enough to retirement financially to not have to do this kind of corporate job again. Health insurance l costs are my big concern as not old enough for Medicare for a few more years.
Word is even they aren’t safe and will be let go next February as well.

Well that and if they live in a location without a nearby office. So having critical knowledge and being in a geographically undesirable location for RTO in the short term has insulated many of these folks from forced layoffs. But all we know, nobody is safe on the Titantic.
I'm against RTO
But the term astronaut to me just meant people who wanted special treatment. Your skills are valued but acting as though youre above the rules seems pretentious.

I was an astronaut and I was laid off and it was based on that I was remote.
