Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Started working here less than year ago

And I already want to leave. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life and the environment is soooo toxic. People gang up on me for sitting in somebody’s “assigned” drop in desk almost everyday. If they don’t say it to me face directly then they take shots at me under their breathe.
“Uh-oh she’s sitting in Jimmys spot, this isn’t gonna be good, she better get out of here”

Nasty people. I hate this environment.

Sad you didn't have someone in your interview to warn you. I know people who have said they shouldn't be asked to do interviews for new hires if they want anyone to accept.

Welcome yo the club!!! Yes T culture is toxic. It has deteriorated rapidly after Stankey announced his RTO policy and forced people to leave or move to to the offices thousands miles away from their original location.

Sounds like an HR issue. Report Stankey to HR for creating an hostile envirnoment. There is further evidence of such with the fight that ocurred in Atlanta several months back.

Do you remember the tv show Oz on Hbo?

Agree, the culture here seems to values employees monitoring and tattling each other, rather than coming together as one team and collaborating.

It doesn’t happen to just new people, OP.

The Executives have done this by design to make it as hard and painful as possible to “force” people to quit.

I feel bad for anyone who just started working here. What a mistake.

RTO is designed to make you miserable. If the purpose was actually what they state then everyone would have assigned space near their teams.

Sadly, welcome to RTO and ALL that comes with it since there was 0 pre-planning around all of this.
Instead, employees “just do it” and we’ll figure it out as you go.
Higher leadership has their own “dedicated” desk/office to sit at with a door. They aren’t concerned about the environment for the rest of employees.
