Employee growth and development used to be a priority here. T was big on it. Investing in people, offering opportunities, and encouraging progress. Now, it’s vanished completely. What happened?

The culture used to be that they wanted you to stay in one job forever. Then they realized that that was a very expensive proposition. Most people should be changing jobs at least once every 3 to 5 years to remain relevant. Your tenure doesn’t spell that you’re worth keeping, your tenure spells that you’re not changing and growing. Do not get pigeon holed into one level or title.
Many companies spend very little on training today compared to the past. Watch this 30 minute video, now you're trained!
Then the mo--ns blame poor customer service and unskilled employees on DEI.
There is better development going on for stray cats at a local adoption shelter I visited last week.
At least we don’t have to take all those classes anymore . Thank gosh.
Xavier Williams said the company didn’t want employees to be here more than 5 years. That was probably over 5 years ago when he said it.

Haha. Because of the other massive debacles, T-Mob purchase failure, DirecTV, and Time-Warner became the most indebted company on earth. Their go-to for that is slash employees.
They don't care now. AI, and contract out, offshore, then AI the contractors and offshore workers.
T is an old struggling company. The best thing a person can do is invest in their development themselves. Lots of affordable options available. Then you don't owe anyone anything when you move on.
What if you train them if you leave? What if you don’t and they stay?
Artificial intelligence taking your jobs.
Many employees never pursue development opportunities and continue to retire in place but stay on the payroll for 25 years or more. Why would AT&T waste the money?
Why would the company waste a dime on growth and development when the do not want you to retire here, or even be here more than 5 years? (Not wanting you to be here more than 5 years was someone else’s words, not mine, I just can not seem to remember who said it at a Town hall a while back, though I may be wrong.)
Headcount reductions is why + d-mb hypocrisy leadership.
