Thread regarding Omnissa layoffs

treatment of employees in EMEA

I'm sure no one wants to stay if you hear what happens in other countries than the US, there are people that have been cut off from accessing there laptops and mobile devices by enterprise wiping them before they had there consultation meeting. I guess in fear that they could do something. They told us how welcome we are in the welcome letter and a couple of month later you get kicked out. This looks like deferring the severance that we had with Broadcom knowing that I would have picked that. What about all the promises that B.B. made and that Omnissa is not like Broadcom, people get layoff while we have Shankar and SLT partying on Omnissa day.

, at least EMEA has strong laws to protect employees.

Which is precisely why no US-based company hires anybody but customer-facing reps or SEs anywhere in Europe, with the possible exception of Ireland or Switzerland who offer low corporate tax rates.

These much touted labor protections are most effective at keeping jobs from Europe in the first place.

I am extremely disappointed in the company and leadership. But, everyone needs to understand that getting their corporate devices wiped is standard practice, and/or getting escorted out of the building. Get your personal data out of those devices and do not have anything at the office that will require a box to carry out. There is a strong possibility another round is coming in April… use this time to prepare.

The people impacted by the layoffs in US had their laptops locked in 24 hours, many of them were advise to not send firewall email as they could lose their severance package.

This company leadership and HR are disgusting 🤮

KKR likely ordered the cut-off from accessing computer and mobile devices. Meanwhile, they are trying to convey a positive message that all is well at Omnissa to software companies that are considering buying the remnants of our declining business. Also, EMEA is unlikely to be profitable, when comparing revenue to the support costs.

They want all of emea support gone. They cost too much all that is happening there is to shove them out the door so they don't have to pay redundancy. Very little in the way of pay rises, staff that left have not been replaced and no promotions. Plenty of cheap labour being hired in Bangalore under the guises of diversity. Its cheap labour really.

Omnissa’s disregard for the employees leaving is unbelievable. Despite receiving positive performance reviews last week, the same managers who knew about the layoffs fired them.

This happened in US, it won’t be different in EMEA, at least EMEA has strong laws to protect employees.

Omnissa’s leadership and managers lack ethics; they’re cowards.
