No severance if we can’t RTO 5 days a week?

I should’ve left when they closed my office and forced us to Dallas 3x/week but offered severance at the time.

Unless you already have a terrible track record with your boss, it will likely take them 6 months to get he green light from HR to let you go anyway. RTO might be a layoff in disguise, but intentionally failing to RTO and just collecting a check can be a severance in disguise as well.

“People said they would move based on the assumption that 3 days would continue and ignored the "to 5 days" portion. If you changed your mind based on the company exercising the "to 5" clause, you are no longer eligible for severance and are quitting of your own accord.”
T needs to take out the trash.

Failure to RTO and work required hours is a COBC violation

No it isn't and no it won't.

It’s much easier to put in the 8 hrs in office than to lose your job. Just do it.

That is correct. Your window for taking the severance passed. The paperwork I received indicated 3-5 days per week, and I knew that meant that it would soon be mandatory 5 days. People said they would move based on the assumption that 3 days would continue and ignored the "to 5 days" portion. If you changed your mind based on the company exercising the "to 5" clause, you are no longer eligible for severance and are quitting of your own accord.

Failure to RTO and work required hours is a COBC violation and will result in termination. To put it in layman’s terms, same as a no call no show situation. So yes you will get fired. People that get fired do not get a severance and do not qualify for unemployment. Yes RTO is stupid, yes the hourly mandate is also d-mb. Best to just come in and look for something else or go ahead and retire. If not, don’t be surprised when you get fired for not coming in 5x8.

Severance is a great show on Apple TV. There are many parallels between that fictional place and here. I’m sorry things aren’t working out for you. Control your own destiny.
