Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Something's up?

Anyone else notice the VPs and SDirs mysteriously absent lately (past two weeks)? Locked in offices or conference rooms? Reorg coming? In GT

Hate seeing anyone laid off, however it makes sense in GPS. Very few people need to be in an office and even less want to. Sell some buildings in west campus, shrink the berm, the savings will make our numbers look better and raise morale for everyone now working remotely.

Tell me you work at a level that has no idea how things work without explicitly telling me. That’s what this post sounds like here.

AOP season. Everyone is focused on the planning and prep. It’s not a secret squad of layoff hounds hunting for victims. Chill out this happens EVERY YEAR at this time and people act all surprised every time.

So that’s why everyone else has been so much more productive lately.

You can discuss a layoff in AOP, but ain’t no one have time to execute it immediately. Usually 6 month lead time if US, 1 year + for Europe because of works councils.

But let me tell you, I really hope they do a reorg/layoff in GT, too many negative people. Man, you think they’d be working in coal mines for the amount of complaining. Go work for google or something, sheesh.

AOP with a dash of layoffs. Don’t think for a second they aren’t identifying additional cost cutting opportunities.
