GDS layoffs coming?

Any rumblings of layoffs in Ontario GDS that were suggested last year? Timing?

Neither of the two in Toronto will be missed. Can’t really say they were part of layoffs. As the other post stated they were purely for performance issues.

Two yesterday in Toronto but seems they were for performance issues. None the less two more gone.

View it however you wish.
But from an executive perspective it is about being lean and profitable.
Period.

I think a better term is "Annual Shareholder Appreciation Day"

These are people - not useless fat.

Sick and tired of corporate memes that reduce people to garbage and trash.

Fu-k you execs for containing to persist these terms.

Layoffs will be light. Few here there but not everywhere.
Time to trim a bit of old useless fat off the lean Enbridge meat.

Sounds good. Moving a job that far away easily qualifies as a constructive dismissal in Ontario. That means they have to pay severance.

I’ve heard where possible they are moving any office support jobs to Calgary. Ie office jobs on Consumer’s Road can be moved to Calgary.

Positions that deal with consumers moving to Calgary. Any position that deals with distribution to the USA are moving stateside.

As the old saying goes, there is nothing guaranteed life except death, taxes, and enbridge laying off people twice a year.

Layoffs are just way of life at enbridge. Even if the company has record profits and wins across all metrics, it still requires layoffs to make owners happy.

Employees are just wealth extraction tools - don’t believe the PR tools about culture and value … it’s all bullsh-t designed to control people into forking over the valuable time for nothing.

The age of company culture is over and died when companies out profits ahead of strategy, customer, innovation.

Your time is a commodity and treat is as such - because you mean nothing to the company

YES! In my region I have just started to hear rumors of layoff`s coming soon. I have not heard anything serious but the rumors are starting, where there is smoke there is fire I guess!

Enbridge is looking to lay off anyone over 55+ because they are expensive employees. If you fall within this range I would recommend you start looking. You have been warned.
