Studies show that over 70% of US employers STILL operate on a “hybrid” mode

… as most employees prefer a hybrid work arrangement, citing the benefits of flexibility and work-life balance.

There isn’t anything out there many employees are qualified for.

Why don’t you go find a hybrid job if you are as good as you think you are!

“5 day RTO in a nutshell. It’s starting to backfire on them as more people leave.”

It is working exactly according to plan, just not fast enough.

The mistake is they are going to lose the people they really don’t want to lose while keeping the people they hope will leave or retire. 5 day RTO in a nutshell. It’s starting to backfire on them as more people leave.

As many have pointed out the younger employees won’t work where it’s 5 day RTO, folks with skills in demand won’t stay, the younger cohort hired with no pension aren’t going to stay. Only people saying they are sticking around are the older workers waiting on Medicare to kick in, people that can’t do better and the deadwood that has an easy job and do little anyways. Thus a big backfire.

We have the worst cost structure of the big 3. They’re being pushed hard to fix it. Reduced head count and offshoring work to India are 2 major initiatives to catch up.

“ are you engagement baiting? You made the same post with the same title 4 days ago.“

I’ll continue posting it as long as I keep seeing posts stating “all companies are full time RTO” etc.

"IMHO ATT made a huge mistake."

You are failing to understand AT&T. They want 30% of the employees to quit. They hope it will be the older folks, and that is probably where the mistake is. They are definitely going to lose employees, one way or another.

Recent interview I had the hr and manager were almost embarrassed that they were on a hybrid model. Asked me if that was ok. I guess they are having trouble getting applicants. I thought 2 days was acceptable in office. Plus it’s a promotion, more money, and a way bigger bonus. This is a major fortune company too. Strange isn’t it.

IMHO ATT made a huge mistake. Just like the other acquisitions, late to the game. The job market is starting to turn around and here they are demanding things that are no longer common. As a result they are going to lose all their top talent as they get poached by other companies.

Does everyone remember the frequent posts where employees used to say they were going to leave T and apply for positions at Amazon to keep WFH?

Someone will lie soon and say it’s a “standard” when that’s not even close to true.
