Thread regarding Omnissa layoffs

Gartner's Warning to Customers About Omnissa Challenges

I couldn't find an update on Gartner's now-infamous assessment. Any thoughts?

MSN: "Gartner warns Omnissa – formerly VMware's end-user compute biz – represents new risks" https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/companies/gartner-warns-omnissa-formerly-vmware-s-end-user-compute-biz-represents-new-risks/ar-AA1pyROq

I'm on the sales team; we're deeply concerned about Microsoft taking our customers

At last estimate Microsoft has 4 times more sellers focused on EUC than Omnissa and Citrix combined. That a reason why KKR fired our North American sales VP, and then our worldwide sales SVP. So while KKR won't add headcount, but they will replace leaders that fail to deliver results. We should expect more of Shankar's direct reports to be cut for poor performance.

"Microsoft continues to gain share of customers in UEM and VDI software. "

I agree with this statement 100%, except our leaders seem to think otherwise. One may recall during the company wide meeting on Thursday when the leadership on stage mentioned Microsoft by saying "they are busy somewhere else" and not focused on their EUC products so we don't need to worry about them. When will leadership start being more transparent and less delusional? We need to have a real strategy against our competitors specially Microsoft.

KKR, are you hearing this?

I expect Gartner will update their report by mid-year. BTW, based on their most recent market study, they are equally concerned about Citrix viability as Microsoft continues to gain share of customers in UEM and VDI software. Private Equity investors know how to cut headcount, not how to grow revenue. So, more layoffs are likely.
