I’ve lost a lot of flexibility and waste plenty of time commuting, but I also work significantly less than I have in the past several years. I get to work, do what I need to, and go home. No answering emails outside the office, no matter how urgent. No staying a minute past my time. No more volunteering for tasks outside my job scope just to be helpful. And so on. RTO isn’t ideal, but I’m making it work.

This is not going to work for me. I need/value flexibility in my life. I was hired as a hybrid for almost a decade doing the same work, same coworkers under the same organization. I am looking for a job while RTOing at the office.
"This must be all Gen Z that post on this web site. Your work ethics are pitiful. We all have been told to RTO."
Okay, Stankey. This isn't a Gen Z thing. This is a "Sc--w you Stankey" thing.
Marvelous insight.
We have RTOed. That's not what this topic is about. Please enroll in a basic reading comprehension class before you look like an id--t again.
We put in our required time, pack up at the soonest possible opportunity and go home. Who the heck is going to set back up at home to work additional time, only to pack it all up again to RTO the next day? That's stupid.

You are 100% right. No one should care anymore. Eight and skate.
If there isn't adequate staffing to cover issues outside of office hours, take it up with Stank.

You must be part of the network operations team! Who cares if there's an outage? Not me!
“ I have a work ethic and strive to do good at whatever it is I do.”
Nice humble brag there.
T=RTO = Ask and you shall receive.
No more off the clock work once home. Period
OP is right. Pizza pickup at the Costco for the kiddos for soccer practice has to be done outside work hours now. Inconvenient!
Good for you. I have a work ethic and strive to do good at whatever it is I do. I don’t enjoy the mandates. I’m constantly rushing in a frenzy to get more done in less time. I’m missing out with my family and kids after school activities. Im spending a lot more money for child care, pet care and car care. A flexible RTO with supervisory empowerment would be a more enjoyable work culture. But that’s just me. I am happy for you though. Thank you for sharing.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have this same mindset. The office is empty by 3:30 most days.
Good for you. I and 99% of others hate it.
That’s the spirit. Do what you’re paid to do and not any more.
We need everyone to understand the one-life rule before we get up there in age.
Let the pathetic leaders have their childish fun. It will all even out in the end. You going home at the end of the day without a burden will mean a healthier and happier you, which is the best gift you can give your family.
