Whoever runs lobbying or government affairs for HPE/JNPR should be the first to be laid off.
Cisco wants to keep acquiring other companies without being called a monopolist. If the top tier shrinks to two main competitors then Cisco draws more attention on their smaller acquisitions.
The reason Cisco is objecting to the HPE/Juniper deal is to protect their real motivation to acquire smaller companies without DOJ review.
It’s ironic because for the DOJ and FTC to claim antitrust violations is not something a libertarian pro-capitalist would want.
Trump knows what is right for America. This acquisition doesn't help America only Antonio and few execs in Juniper. Wait till you see Juniper results on Feb 9th.

This is due to Cisco meddling and it’s easy to see. Hopefully the stockholders see it too since instead of having a healthy competitor, they’d rather buy a lawsuit.
There's going to be a blood letting either way, either because of redundancies from the merge, or to recover and re-org if it flops. Plus there's AI pressure in the air as companies find they don't have to hire people to get the job done and soon can start letting them go.

I was laid-off in December. I don't think a failed acquisition will bring back my job.
I don’t understand this. People first said there would be layoffs because Juniper got acquired. Now they’re saying there will be layoffs because Juniper didn’t get acquired? Which is it lol?
Objectively, the combined HPE-Juniper would have lead to much more layoffs combined as opposed to each individually.

Nothing is final yet so I will hold back my feelings on Mr. Neri until then. The deal got through every other relevant regulatory body in the world. If one bureaucrat gets in the way now, it does not mean HPE or Juniper fumbled the deal. Maybe Juniper leaders don't want the deal and are whispering in the ears of the Justice department?
Who would you put at ceo {internally or externally} to replace Antonio? Someone from his exec team?
