As DeepSeek beats almost all LLMs and is about 1/20th the cost, is SAP's cost cuts in favour of future AI investments justified? All AI stocks will tank now and will be forced to offer a similar pricing model as DeepSeek to stay relvevant. Even if they do not, customers would want to use cheaper models for output generation. All in all, cost cuts to favor AI investment does not sound justified suddenly.

DeepSeek is nothing more than a platform designed to collect information from US, just like Tic Tok.. nothing more and nothing less.
Don't fall for it if you are in USA.
Lol. Deepseek cost 1.6billion

Don't believe what PRC is releasing about DeepSeek....it's all about trolling the US to see how it reacts.
LLMs will keep evolving and there will be something new that will replace DeepSeek. In the shorter term, the valuations of NVDA, OpenAI et all is a big question. SAP was not in the race of building LLMs in the first place, so as a divine stroke of good luck, they somehow are now in a better position than those that overinvested in foundation models and GPUs. That being said, onus is now on SAP and similar companies to build embedded AI apps - like Joule and its capabilities, that are embedded in their solution offerings. Customers also should be given the choice to using cost effective foundation models - pretty sure DeepSeek and the likes will be a part of the GenAI Hub very soon. All in all, these are some positive developments for SAP and if you are looking to change, AI related role is the best bet for now.
Thats good news for companies like SAP located mainly in Europe and can avoid bias 'to and from 'large GPT vendors. Ultimately it is up to current babies in management how they crawl and walk.
