Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

“Continue to accelerate our culture evolution”

Not sure how many employees would say the current culture is the direction we need to be “accelerating”.

Cultural de-evolution is more reality. We’re devolving in the truest sense.

“ Yep, like riding a rocket to the sun . . . everything ahead looks bright until you reach the destination and all is destroyed”

Reminds me of the old Timbuk3 song "The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades".

"It's so cute that some think the employee base's opinion matters..."

The employiees are very aware that not only does our opinion not matter to C-Suite, but we do not matter, in general to C-Suite. We just choose not to be Stankey sycophants like yourself. We see the reality and call it like we see it. We do not justify their actions though.

Cultural evolution is just code for reducing headcount by eliminating the older workers. They are hoping to replace us all with cheap younger people. Funny thing is, they will lose that young talent and the seasoned top performers with the current strategy. Job market stinks at the moment, but it’s starting to turnaround.
