Well he was a visionary... 7 years ahead of his time. The nonsense and idiocy of the standalone Oracle Cloud stopped in 2022.
It is easy to be a visionary in hindsight. I saw real visionaries talk about "cloud" in 2007-08. Back then they didn't call them clouds, Specialized grids, purpose built clusters, and other phrases, but it was all the same thing. If you search deeply enough, you probably can still find the white papers.
Being a "visionary" in 2022 is not impressive, being one in 2007 is.
