@kw+1jjjxw21z No one said anything about non-white countries and no need to make this a race thing. I’m simply stating facts, of how the existing supply chain works.
Have you ever studied economics? Generally as countries develop they move from agriculture to manufacturing to knowledge work . Unfortunately I don’t have the power to undo the entire history of how the global world has developed, and if you know anything about manufacturing in Turkey, Middle East, UK, Portugal, Italy, or Eastern Europe you also wouldn’t be on your high horse.
If you want to pay Americans $15 an hour to knit and sew your shirt, do it. But I highly doubt if we look at your closet you’re only buying American / locally made. If made locally, FOB will be closer to $50, putting retail at $150, versus current cost of $25. You also have to stipulate then you aren’t hiring Mexican day labor which is what supports the majority of factories in LA. I’m sure they would hire plenty of white Americans if they could, show me where white Americans are lining up to do that work.
I’ve worked on plenty of projects to bring manufacturing back to the U.S. and over the last 20 years results have always been consumers aren’t willing to pay for it, so unless you can prove you aren’t a complete hypocrite, you’re using this conversation to argue fundamental ethics vs economics which is the epitome of theory vs fact
