I know everyone is up in arms about RTO right now - and for good reason, to be clear - but the same thing that always happens will happen. People will huff and puff, but within six months, they’ll get used to it and forget all about it. They’ll just keep coming to work like WFH never even happened. Sad, but true.

“ I heard Baich was the 4th choice”
For what? Beey0tch of the year?
I heard Baich was the 4th choice.
there will be no "reversal" of anything
It was even revealed that Baich wasn't Legg's first choice for CSO because nobody else wanted the job. Everyone hates Baich just like everyone hated him at Wells Fargo, AIG, and the CIA. But he'll stay just like the other incompetents.
I bring a tablet or personal laptop and watch videos. Seriously I get my work done in 3-4 hrs per day sometimes longer if we are busy and just sit around to get my 8. Just walk around the office and it’s easy to see most people aren’t really working anymore. Most of my work is in the mornings and evenings which unfortunately I have to do at home. Just the way the job is. The time in the office is just a waste of time.
So you feel we will get use to working in a 3rd world country call center environment while sitting on MS Teams calls all day because our work peers are spread all over the country and not even at the work location we are assigned to?
The policy is Stankey’s baby, so I could imagine it being officially reversed by a new CEO. But I agree that no official reversal is likely - the reports will keep existing but nobody will pay attention to them.
" RTO reversal"
Anyone that has been here a while knows there will be no "reversal" of anything. That implies an official edict that the policy was flawed and didn't work as intended. That will never happen. Ever.
What those who have been here a while also now is that after some period of time (that period of time debatable- I don't think it happens this year, more likely next) they will just not care about this anymore. Reports will no longer be reviewed. Your Boss won't care where you work from as long as you're available and doing your job, and this whole thing will be a funny thing to chat about (akin to "...remember that Workplace 2020 stuff when they told us we all needed to train to be software developers...?). Many of will be gone between now and then though, whenever it is. Which I guess is the point.
Most people will be canned then they'll stop caring
Well said. Big business 101 is in session. You servants need to get back to work!
Come off your high horse cry babies.
Hey, if your building is nasty, call the health department. Just don't give your name. I did when the co-ktail roaches were big enough to ride. It got addressed.
I give it six months before they stop giving a sh-t. This too shall pass.
I give it six months as well, but for RTO reversal.
AT&T is just as d-mb and stupid and weak as they’ve always been. Chicken Little CTO and Cue Ball CEO don’t know WTF they are doing. They’ve already lost internal and external trust. Legal and HR are one single lawsuit away from going back to 3 day RTO. They are incapable of handling the 5 day RTO logistics, expense and the mo--nic glut of incomplete data churned out by a d-mb vendor only in it for the blood su-king cash.
In the meantime I’ll keep driving in, documenting violations and wait quietly until I need to present it to them.
Been doing this for nearly two years now. Still hate it. Still not enough desks. Still no cleaning service. Waiting for the next announcement of another sc--w they’ll turn to make it worse.
That will NOT happen lol RTO has been going on for over two years now and here we are.. everyone still hates it! Nice try tho stank.
I commit to two things, for as long as I'm forced in.
I will not spend a penny on site or anywhere nearby.
I will slow my productivity, find ways to delay progress, produce subtly flawed output, and generally malinger.
I am more stubborn than a mule and I will not waver.
You make the best of it. That’s the healthy thing to do for your own sanity. Don’t live in anger and despair it’s not worth it. Glass half full could be worse and all that stuff.
I'll never stop being mad about wasting time and money to sit in a loud office with no desks on teams calls with people sitting next to me
