True to a point. All telcos are cutting people to 'save money' - trying to trim as much costs anywhere in the company and offshore it. VSP's are more common in recent years. Record profits? Cut more costs! Trim the people making money - obviously the executives won't be offshored - though that would save the company the most!

Call center representatives are overpaid and sitting home. Cut that fat and we’ll be good.

What a liberal tool.

Telco, aka Wireline, does make money.
Nearly all of it is outsourced from an IT perspective.

Bottom line - it's a stupid post with no value.

The requirement to give federal customers “most favored customer” pricing doesn’t help. You essentially break even on MRCs while hoping to eke out a profit on professional services, or face the reality of not seeing ROI until a few years into the contract.

It’s a profitable business, but it’s not a growth business, nor is the profit margin going to hold due to competitive pressure. Telecom will maintain a profit, but the margin will be less in the future.

When I look at Verizon's income statement and I see "net income" of $12.8 billion for 9 months ending 9/30/24, I somehow can't quite square that with your wise counsel.
