We got our reviews but manager said they can’t talk compensation until like the end of the month? Is this true? I don’t remember my old managers doing that. When can they talk about comp and when does it go into affect?

OP here. My original manager that I had my whole first 5 years with Wells ALWAYS gave the info together. Made more sense but I guess if that’s how it’s supposed to be done it is what it is…..just seems silly.
Anyone notice that compensation and job profile pay ranges are no longer visible to IC’s?
Yep, sometimes I've been told merit, but bonus is delayed until last minute
Numbers aren’t final til the board meeting
This has been the policy for at least the last ten years.
has always been like this. allowed to give review about two weeks before allowed to discuss comp.
a manager can choose to delay giving review until they are allowed to talk about comp, but the comp discussion window is only 2-3 days - so most managers have them separate so as not to have to manage the logistics of having all the convos within that short window.
OP if you had a manager that previously did them both together, it means either they delayed their review discussion so they could do them once the comp window opened up - or they violated policy.
It has been this way for 20 years. You don't usually get told comp #'s until a couple of days before you can see your paycheck online. Reviews come a week or two earlier.
I had my yearly last week and was told the same thing.
Managers don't have the final numbers yet.
Long-standing tradition to not give out the numbers until the week before they hit the bank account.
