Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Too much uncertainty

Keeping employees in such uncertainty is cruel... If I'm going to be laid off, then I want to find out as soon as possible.

However, the leadership obviously does not care at all about what the employees are going through....... Why keep us in so much suspense?

Rumor is it’s across the board, and all departments will be impacted, some departments have already done rifs, like the IT department. It would appear since they’re focusing on Medicaid members, the safest place to be would be SNP…oh, and licensure in states their expanding in

1/1/23 is a Sunday, it would take effect after that, and then count back the 60 days, which puts us at the first week of November. There is a legal process they have to go through with time frames, there is 3rd part evaluations, it takes time to do it with such a grand scale, and secondary to that is prepping for the work transitions. It isn’t done to ruin your holidays, it’s related to fiscal reporting. Assume you’re going to be RIFd….start looking for other jobs, interview…you can always say no if you’re not RIFd…look at your budget and see where you can make cuts…if you go into the mindset of being proactive you may have less stress

This has been going on since February!! We’ve been walking on eggshells for 6+ months… what ducks can you get in a row when you don’t even know when the other shoe is going to drop? If ever, the audacity to say “take care of your health during this time” is pretty much laughing in our faces, this has been a living nightmare to say the least. And btw 3 weeks is way to far out, we’ll know within a week or 10 days being we get a 60 day notice if you are impacted and all changes will take effect 1/1/3.

It is definitely stressful but We all should know where we stand sometime within the next three weeks. There is a process that has to be followed and it takes time.

That’s not the reason. There’s a process that has to be gone through and HR needs to go through certain processes and procedures by law. All you can do is wait and see and do your job the best you can. It’s nerve racking for sure, but it’s a process. For those of us who have been through a few of these situations, there were times years ago when we were completely blindsided and had no idea until it happened. Now, at least, with the advanced warning you may be impacted, it gives you a chance to get your ducks in a row in case you are
