Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Shut down NSO network. Only 3PW

Read this evaluation and tell me you don’t agree. This analyst appears to read our story correctly, which I find insightful.

He summarizes with the recommendation to change our distribution to emphasize selling through wholesalers and shutter most of our Nike owned stores. There is a lot more in the article.

“ A small number of flagship company stores are currently located in key cities throughout the world to promote the NIKE brand image whilst the bulk of the company stores should be used to merchandise excess and old stock.

This would enable NIKE to focus on product innovation and branding whilst leaving the wholesalers to distribute most of the product to the market.”

No argument here. I admit that Interpreted the authors idea to the extreme and that he only wanted to keep the key city doors. The annual expense of running the entire store owned network in the US is very high. Same with NDDC

Did we read the same story? He's got lots of graphs but doesn't really add anything that isn't public knowledge.

His suggestion for stores isn't what you say, it's to have flagship stores in big cities but for most of the fleet to focus on selling excess inventory which is... already the business model for stores?
