Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I got my guarantee payment notice the other day.

"The network interruption you experienced on January XX, 2025 is covered by the AT&T Guarantee℠. We know even a short interruption can impact your day, so we’ve rounded your bill credit up to cover a full day(s) worth of service. That’s our AT&T Guarantee hard at work to help make it right.

Credit amount: $0.33

Your credit will appear in 1–2 bill cycles — no action required by you.

Thanks for being a valued customer."

@a4+1jhvh6fbb "Wow OP, AT&T is paying you $0.33 for an entire days disruption. How does that compare to what they charge you per day?"

Perhaps your uneducated self does not know this yet, but employees get ATT Fiber for $10/mo. Amortize it over a month and it's $0.33/day.

What is hilarious is that the cable companies already did this, and they did not have to have a big press conference and marketing slogan to announce it.

You are mistaken. That was your bonus. It just arrived early this year.
