"contact your supervisor, inform them of this fact and that you will be returning home to work until the issue is addressed."
Maybe,
contact your supervisor, inform them of this fact and ask him whether you should return home to work or hang around the office with your thumb ...
That's above my paygrade. I was always happy that up the immediate chain, namely, next up, I had good people. I would put them on notice on the productivity issue, and let them decide, especially when it isn't clear whether the RTO edict still controls. I would personally not care whether I did any work that day or not because it wouldn't be my decision.
"ya'll need to start complaining"
Instead of just complaining, we must flat out refuse to work in such a condition. If no suitable workspace is available upon your arrival to the office, contact your supervisor, inform them of this fact and that you will be returning home to work until the issue is addressed.
For those who don't have a proper desk and chair....ya'll need to start complaining about ERGONOMICS! If employees continue to not have proper seating then the company can plan on employees having future health issues like carpal tunnel for example. Ergonomics is no joke.
“ How is it that so many are still missing the point?”
I know right, couldn’t be more obvious. They want you unhappy and miserable so you’ll leave or retire. If they don’t get the reduction they want, they’ll just make it harder and harder until they do. They don’t want to mention layoffs because that negatively impacts the stock price. Maybe they will layoff some folks by Q2, but that will be it.
The reason we are 5 days RTO is because the people who’s job role actually requires them to be in the office complained endlessly how it was unfair.
Back to the way things were for me and most others before Covid would be 100% virtual. Sure, let’s go back to that.
It’s true. We hadn’t had paper towels or soap in the bathrooms in weeks. Most the stalls have no toilet paper since employees bring it back to their desks to be prepared.
There isn’t enough parking spaces and co workers are parking anyway, anywhere they can.
Empty desks for “our greatest assets “ are gone by early AM.
We have a very wrong employer testing us while the greed at the top levels continues.
I heard the above issues are called “Hot pockets” to take up our chain of command.
We work for some very sick individuals.
Go get those collaboration points, comrades!
"if you don't have a desk by now. you will be layed off soon. "
"Laid"
You're now on the list
I would ask your supervisor’s supervisor.
How is it that so many are still missing the point?
pssst: they don't want anything to go back to the way it was
pass it on!
The economics don’t work for that. The goal is maximizing space.
ask your supervisor
This has been asked and IGNORED multiple times at L5 and above.
They
Don’t
Care
It’s almost like they don’t even UNDERSTAND since they all have their own dedicated spaces. F them.
And the wonder why everyone is absolutely miserable.
No way! We would not have the collaboration that way!
Well they’re getting rid of all the normal desks. Best you can hope for is a seat at a table with 3 other people separated by a small plastic partition.
if you don't have a desk by now. you will be layed off soon.
