Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Aerospace Seperation New CEO

Hearing that the board is interviewing both John W and Darius as a potential CEO for the Aero business if Honeywell splits. This will be great for us.

"i cant believe you guys are dreaming of being part of ge.
what would ge get from that deal? not much" You see 25 years ago we were in the same position. What goes around, comes around. The only upside is that we would keep our jobs.... for awhile. (https://ec.europa.eu/commission/presscorner/detail/en/ip_01_939)

Let's see...
A dominant APU business
Decent integrated avionics
Cabin thermal controls
Mechanical actuators and brakes

Yeah, no reason there. Combined the merger could make just about every part of an airliner except the airframe itself. Possible savings by cutting two sales forces into one.

I'm not saying it will happen or is even likely, but it is not an insane idea on its face.

My bet is on Boeing former CEO Dave Calhoun. Once HON Aero slits, old Dave will have Aero up on the blocks in no time. Don't forget Boeing still has two stranded astronauts on the Space Station and Boeing is in no position to ever getting them back to earth. You can count on Dave creating the most embarrassing news for Aero once Dave starts as CEO.

Cote could run the ship well on a temp basis while it eventually gets bought off. Good leadership and great use of the rrrs with the Boston accent. Miss hearing him say Chiner and Indiaerr

Darius is why Honeywell is in this position. If the plan is make Hom profitable, re-hire Dave Cote. If the plan is too sell, hire a CEO that specializes in M&A.
I suspect the spinoff turns into an outright sell/merger.

Larry Culp (or his successor) is going to be running this in 3 years when GE acquires it. That’s going to constrain the options for NewCo as a top-notch candidate is going to know this. My money is on JC staying in place and being the “caretaker”.

@fz+1jhnpebg9 Honeywell Home and Garrett were already being annihilated from within in true Honeywell fashion, their divestments were just yet another tool to short term prop up Honeywells stock price and strategically offload some significant financial and legal baggage in the process. You should go down the Resideo and Garret rabbit hole sometime and realize what a piece of 5hit company you work for. Both companies were doomed from the get go. The Aero split is an entirely different animal , it could be a far more successful business independently and has huge potential. Current Honeywell leadership is entirely unable or unwilling to manage the complexity of a modern large conglomerate, they have already exhausted all avenues to maintain the current stock price so simplification is now their best hope. It just makes sense.
I echo others sentiment too to dump most of IA and put the cherry on the cake.

without Aero paying the bills the buildings and industrial automation groups are just another resideo. town hall told the future ...
that guy apologizing from the start ... "we hope to be profitable next year!!!!".

do a chart of Resideo... would you be a buyer of that stock today? -22% from split
what about Garrett motion? -42% from split (and a bankruptcy in there)

woohooo!! sum of parts was so much more valuable than the whole.
Honeywell is being played and the CEO can't project a better plan.

Well, I don't expect him to be there for long. Megan, merger is coming. If the stock is supposed to go up 55 to 75% , then mega merger must be taking place.

So once the spin-off is completed, I expect within 2 years some type of merger will be taking place. When merger is completed. Expect some of the board members and even possibly the CEO of the old company.
They possibly could become part of the new board of directors.

Otherwise, they'll just make a cr-p load of money when the merger takes place. Expect him. I have a crapload of aerospace stock. Just raking the money, you all should have seen this coming. I guess you guys will get to go now with the ship. Yet! You're still future shapers and you still might get promoted. I wish you'd remember the game shoots and ladders. Now you're going to be shooting down. You will not be starting over.
I've been looking for a job. We got quite the reputation. Not good to have Honeywell on your application. We're all lazy, and we don't follow processes. We push parts and there's no discipline on us..

One if any of you other guys have had the same experience when you apply for jobs. No, you'll probably get a job. With your buddies at another company, guarantee they'll always be hiring.
