De10ach in Miami consistently disregards return-to-office policies, often arriving late and leaving early. During town hall meetings, they openly boast that these policies don’t apply to Miami IT. It’s clear that since being gifted this role, nothing has improved. It may be time to reassess why is he still there. J-A-Y should already have his next gift waiting for him in the energy sector.

Dont know much about this Vz division but nothing good can come out of it when you have so many angry amd unsatisfied employees. Even if leadership is not that bad, for sure is not respected

If they are requesting for rankings then that means that a RIF is eminent. Best of luck!

It’s truly fascinating how a group of individuals from the energy sector—completely oblivious to telecom or effective leadership—have somehow convinced themselves they’re in control. Clearly, a more competent leader is overdue. , just came out of a meeting where they have ask to rank our directs! Never a good sign. Hopefull someone is ranking sc-o-tt-y at the bottom

The reality is that the IT department reflects poor management and weak leadership. They are struggling to establish clear direction, and it’s evident that S-c-o-t-t is not suited for the role he was gifted. This is further highlighted by widespread customer complaints.

Stop lying tell the truth no one in Miami makes decisions - not scott not jay not anyone else. IT is run by a group of old GTE from the same area of India and same caste. Verizon IT or GTS or whatever has been a sh-tshow with no accountability for years. Same on the business side its run by the basking ridge cool people club who just keep recycling the same faces into different roles when they fail. There are SOME smart people but just rampant favortism and self preservation and no accountability it's a shame!

The adults have been in charge for 3 years now, with tens of millions spent on the big transformation project and nothing to show to us except money lining the pockets of the big outsourcing consultants like cognizant and techm and bain and mckinsey.

They'll blame the tracfone people until they are all gone, then they'll blame visible people to save their as--s.

Why don't they all leave and go with Jay? He got them the job to begin with right, then they left him high and dry?

clean the top, most RIF's and VSP have only affected the bottom layers, the real issues are at the top, that is really what will drive a much needed change.

That department has accumulated significant technical debt over the years, stemming from poor leadership decisions. Additionally, it faces substantial human capital challenges, driven by favoritism, self-preservation, and a lack of diverse talent. Much of the leadership consists of former programmers with over 20 years of tenure, which has contributed to stagnation and limited innovation.

The idea of S-a-y-e-e G—a-d-a-m-s-e-t-t-y managing a portfolio of mission-critical applications is alarming. He is completely out of touch with technology, lacks communication skills, is highly unpopular with his direct reports, and, most importantly, is clueless about tech trends and innovation. He fails to serve as an inspirational force for the people he leads and is truly a self-preserving liability.

The package is something that a lot of people have come to want because of the environment TF has become. Lots of TF people want out but don’t want to leave empty handed. Can people actually ask for it?

Most of the comments here appear to come from TracFone employees frustrated with outdated and ineffective leadership that fails to meet Verizon’s expectations. This has led to layoffs and the offshoring of valuable talent. TracFone’s leadership was appointed by J-a-y S-m-i-t-h, seemingly without careful consideration or merit, as he prioritized placing friends in key positions. Unsurprisingly, this leadership has failed to deliver value, jeopardizing the entire department’s future.

Not wishing you away nor is anyone being hateful as you put it, pointing out what happens around here. The company is known to offshoring their IT org. Its just a matter of time that it happens to the Miami team. We have watched it play out over and over again with many other acquisitions. It's better that you are prepared for it than be surprised by it.

Value is the org handling the IT of the acquired TracFone brands including Total Wireless.
Seeing these comments is disheartening. I had no idea Verizon is full of such hateful and spiteful people that would want whole departments gone.
We didn't ask to get bought.
You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

He’s protected because he has blamed all of the internal problems on everyone else and they slowly are dropping like flies. Just Monday another person from his core team is gone. Only a matter of time before the entire department is moved offshore.

We don't need multiple IT orgs. No worries, they are steadily offshoring jobs.
