Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Fiserv and SSecurity for Retirees

I was a contractor so got nothing when I left in 2019. But Facebook ad came up nothing Fiserv retirees could have issues with social security - did not read but be aware of any issues. Kinda neat that FB would now be associated with SSecurity isn't it. So special

So you started a thread about an ad on social media that you didn't even bother reading? Ok.

How are you at a tech company falling for FB ads?

If you believe Facebook ads are real, it may shock you to believe you should hold off on sending money to that Nigerian prince in your email.

Facebook is not a reliable news source.

In this case you experienced "click bait". The advertisement posted something intentionally misleading so that you would click on the advertisement to read the article. When you click the link it opens a page with more advertisements on the page. The owner gets paid money for showing you those advertisements.

It could also be a targeted advertising campaign. If you told Facebook that you worked for Fiserv and are retired, then advertisers can target ads to people using that criteria. I bet the same company has different advertising campaigns related to all of the S&P 500 with similar fear mongering headlines.

Good for you for not clicking the link.
