Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T’s HR Problems Start at the Top

It’s frustrating to see AT&T struggling with so many internal issues, and a lot of it can be traced back to a major leadership misstep: putting Lori Lee, someone with zero HR experience, in charge of the company’s Human Resources department.

Lori’s background is in marketing and international operations, not HR. While she might be great at those things, HR is an entirely different ballgame. It requires a deep understanding of employee needs, organizational culture, and workforce development. Instead, we’ve seen mismanaged layoffs, poor communication, and a lack of genuine support for employees. Morale is low, and leadership seems more focused on protecting themselves than on addressing the concerns of their teams.

So, what can AT&T do to fix this? Start by putting someone with actual HR expertise in charge. Bring in a leader who understands the complexities of managing people at a massive company like AT&T. Someone who can rebuild trust, improve communication, and implement policies that make employees feel valued.

This isn’t rocket science, it’s about recognizing that HR is too important to treat as an afterthought. If AT&T wants to solve its internal problems, it needs to start at the top.

None of our leaders are in their positions because they are experts at their department. They are there because they won't say no to Stank.

I agree with the OP about Lori but if there’s going to be real change then you would also have to remove Stanky

HR is not here for your benefit as an employee. HR is to benefit the companys' leadership desires.

What makes you think T has ever had an HR department, that's never been the case, keeping just the basics and a very weak HR department is part of the plan.

We're stuck with Lori. Who the he-l would entertain coming here to be hed of HR? Any halfway decent HR person would do their research. Check out this site to see what the culture. Read the RTO LinkedIn commentary from recent months. Talk to the thousands of recent depatures from here on why they left and if all this is real.

Realize you can money whip some people, but this culture isn't going to change for the better. Everybody knows it. At least we'll win as one!

"requires a deep understanding of employee's needs"

Do you mean things like desks? If they are not going to require employees get desks then everything else is a pipe dream.

"Angela was only there to reduce benefit plans and start the surplus engines to drive higher cost employees out of the business. "

Fact... HR doesn't set head count, departmental expense budgets do.

“A nutless monkey could do her job.”

Come on man, why you gotta be like that. Don’t stoop to that level. What’s humanity coming to these days where we gotta insult Monkeys!

The HR leaders who would need to come. 1. T couldn’t pay them enough. 2. They’re probably aware of the sh-t show here and want nothing to do with it.

This person was installed to be totally controlled. Lack of experience is the perfect candidate. They want you unhappy so you leave. Get it?
