Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Can anyone relate to this?

Once or twice a month (like today), I seem to get a thick packet for a shareholders meeting or some action of a company in which I have stock holdings. In seeing such packet, my heart leaps thinking this might be the day I finally received a severance package from the O. And then I examine the packet and find that it is not, and my hope fades.
Anyone else feeling me here?

And yes, logically I have heard a package would come Fedex and not USPS, but there is no stopping my heart. It wants what it wants.

"I like the people I work with at O, enjoy what I do as long as I don't try and rationalize why so many things at O internally process/tool wise su-k so badly."

You have hit the nail on the head so hard it went in with one strike.

in much of a similar situation, been working and living beneath our means for many years so have accumulated a substantial net worth and could/would step away if given 'the package'. But I like the people I work with at O, enjoy what I do as long as I don't try and rationalize why so many things at O internally process/tool wise su-k so badly. Edward Screven has announced his retirement, maybe his successor will actually allow O to evaluate and use tried and true enterprise tried and true products rather than building things in a hurry, things that turn out to hamper productivity.

if I had to do it over again...I would've def gone into the trades or logistics. there are SO many frauds in tech...and the businesses that surround anythign that have to do with it. I left a GBU at Oracle. I am pretty sure not more than 1% of the slobs that are still there could get up and hammer and nail into a piece of wood. Oracle will make you soft. I got soft. My mgmt, soft immoral putrid sc-m.....and that was before we started bringing in the farm animals from acquisitions. it was the same cycle...."this is the best produc on the market".....12 mos later it would be EOL. hahahahahahahahhahahahaha. I can't say it's the orcle mothership that does the damage more than it is really some bad people. I look bak at my years there. the "big talkers"...some of the biggest losers I ever was around. they literally will have accomplished nothing in life but kissing a$$ for a check with skills my 10 year old daughter could master in a week. pathetic losers. so happy I left.......on my own....cause I am an adult.

good riddance. I need my job to pay bills. job market is atrocious and H1-B avalanche expectations won't make it better. ever, at this point.
