Because there is NO cell service in parts of California.
Where is FirstNet?
Why am I not seeing commercials or people on the news touting our services?

“ I’m built different.”
Yeh, apparently built to spew bunk. What a combination…grand standing AND bl0wing sm0ke.
“Humble brag meets virtue signaling.”
Exactly what a loser would say. Trust me, I know I’m built different. That’s why I’m the guy everyone goes to when it must be done right, that’s why I get the top rating, and that’s why I get two connection awards every year.
You keep thinking it’s not possible while I keep making it possible
“ As corny as it sounds, it’s because that’s who I am. I receive satisfaction in knowing I make a difference. I enjoy being in the action and all he-l breaking loose. Most employees have roles that don’t require putting fires out all day long. When I get on calls and hear people talking about a crazy day because of an outage I chuckle. That’s my day, every day.”
Humble brag meets virtue signaling.
“If the network was restored that quickly, congratulations. The company seemed far more focused on taking attendance last week.”
Because regardless of what leadership does the people in operations are dedicated employees who sacrifice every single day.
Example?
I haven’t had the luxury of a set schedule in months. I’ve been working days, evenings, and nights. In no particular order just to make sure I cover my bosses but, support my team, and ensure the network keeps going.
Why do I do it, even though I feel unappreciated, used, and abused?

“Serious question: 13 sites oos out of a total of how many related to fire?”
Somewhere in the ballpark of 150

“That’s funny, I’m looking at smart right now and there’s only 13 sites oos related to the fires with plenty of overlap.“

Who cares?
Obviously without RTO there would have been no service interruption. Those people could have been deployed to keep away from our facilities.
“John did have a LinkedIn post 2 days ago detailing the response to the wildfires.”
Forgettable. Shows how much that meat loaf looking face and that condescending voice tone resonates with the public. Genuinely good people resonate on another level. Not this guy.
John did have a LinkedIn post 2 days ago detailing the response to the wildfires.
You must be getting your news from the Gavin Newsom video where he lies about not having phone service. Come on man! He wasn’t calling Joe!
Btw, you could not be more wrong about our mobility network and its resilience through this fire. Our mobility network was 90% restored within the first few days. We were back up before they contained the fire 1 %
It’s there, you just aren’t hearing about it in the news because it’s working and not broken. There was little to no service interruption because our people are on it. Don’t denigrate the folks busting their tails to make sure it’s fixed or covered before there is a problem.
Wow, Stankey should be posting something about FirsNet on LinkedIn or X. Let people know about this great , innovative and reliable product.
Only it’s not. It’s just another half-assed endeavor that we did and then pulled in a bunch of contractors to sh-t all over the code, building it out verbatim based on words described in a feature. We don’t build anything with our brains anymore. This is why we, the business, have been taking everything away from ATS. Working IT is laborious and the results underwhelming often missing the simplest things because it wasn’t spelled out or implanted in their head for them. This is why business knowledge is the key to success, not offshoring and diversity in the workforce. Hire good people and don’t run them off with five day RTO.

Guess you’re just full of it.
Stanky and Legg had a chance to do something really special (again).
Because it’s all taken care of by Starlink. Elon acted on day one. Stankey and Legg were busy counting LAN pings for their employees that were stuffed in offices like sardines. Leave the highly elevated thinking and strategic priorities to the two egg heads that know what’s best. Now don’t let your laptop go idle.
