some people don't want to touch the keyboard, mouse, or disgusting cables that who knows what might have used them before them.
It's just plain stupid to tell people to come into the office 5 days a week and don't give them a dedicated place to sit at every day.
Whatever. I do what I want.
Confusion is a feature of RTO, not a bug
Um, the monitors at the desk I have dropped into aren’t able to interface with USB C or HDMI. They are too old.
F you, I do want I want. -EC
There are NOT enough Focus Rooms (in existence) to go around PERIOD per the amount of people in the office!
They do not know how to use them
They do not require the real estate a monitor offers because the are not contributing any significant. I know of others that used their laptop only screen at home also.
I roll in at 5. Have to otherwise my 1 hour w/o traffic commute becomes 2 to 2.5 hours. I’m not doing 5 hours on the road 5 days a week. and, yes: I did go into the office 1-2 days before Covid because I was a flex worker. Have not done 5 days in office since 1999. And back then I had my own cubicle and was colocated with my team. Now I get to fight daily for a drop in space , listen to strangers from other teams all day and use Teams - like everyone else - to talk to teammates because we are all spread out across states and cities
No, RTO is not about collaboration. It’s about cost savings, forcing people out. Let’s all agree to stop the pretense
I don’t use the monitor cause I coffee badge. Yes, still doing it and love it!!!
Curiosity?
Every usable desk should have a monitor, however, what tools I use at my desk is my business.
A more importantly, get out if the focus rooms if you are not hosting a call. If you are hosting a call and constantly holler talking into your noise canceling headphone, take it to a focus room. Have some f'n curiosity for the person next to you.
It shouldn’t matter if you arrive at 7 or 10 am. Every employee should be afforded the necessary tools to do their job. Employers that care about their employees will properly equip them to be successful.
You should confront them and demand their office space. You matter, high performer!
“I and team” - you’re a 3rd grader. Grow up.
Just do your 8 and skate, it can wait, no matter what.
I come in at 10 and leave at 6, so what?
So, you are not living the intent
“ What I don’t understand is the people who roll in at 10AM expecting to find a seat.”
Easy, maybe they have to work central time zone or deal with west coast more. I see some people here at 6am and leave at 2pm or 7-3. Like really? You don’t have meeting after 2 or 3pm? See how that works?
I and team dooes the rolling at 7 of the clock pm mumbai times as we have collaboration meets in morning with us employee
I’d pretty much guarantee you that these folks don’t know how to set up for dual monitors.
I come in at 10 and leave at 6, so what?
Maybe people who roll in at 10 stay till 6 unlike people who leave at 2. What sort of collaboration happens when people roll in at 5am..
“What I don’t understand is the people who roll in at 10AM expecting to find a seat.”
These are some of the primary 5x8 targets.
Maybe if you arrived earlier you wouldn’t have trouble finding a desk! What I don’t understand is the people who roll in at 10AM expecting to find a seat.
