Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Heads up..

Well, not saying it makes any sense, but I was just informed that starting today @ Northpoint Alpharetta, to solve the issue of parking (something like 2500 seats and 1500 parking spots) T’s move to solve this is to put in place valet parking.

They currently have 3/4 of the lot blocked off for this. I dunno how that’s gonna fix the issue or parking shortage, but it’s T logic…. I would also assume people would now have to tip the valets?

That’s all I know about this so if anyone else has more info please post it. There was no announcement, just bam! Starting today as people showed up.

So what’s the deal with the valets? Are they optional? What % are using them?

“A second way of knowing when you came in and when you left.”

Actually a third. Don’t forget about undesignated hall monitors now in place.

The number of valets in ATL who side hustle as car thieves is really getting better I hear!

In Alpharetta. As far as we can tell the valet service isn't using the parking more efficiently than self-parkers would, so what's the point?

RTO, a solution in search a problem that never existed.
Meanwhile T chokes on the costs associated with office lease extensions, office expansions, building maintenance and cleaning services, electricity, networking equipment, employee monitoring, reporting, revisions, analysis, monitoring tools licenses, deskside service software glitches, increased problem tickets and laptop downtimes, declining morale and culture, bad press, a warning beacon for the young and talented to avoid T at all costs, untold costs due to vendors and offshore having a field day with ineptitude created by the loss of talent. Thank goodness we have Valet now. AT&T, we salute you. Take a bow because you’ve invented a brand new kind of guarantee. A guarantee to investors that this place is run by incompetence to its core that may even supersede the incompetence that has burned California to the ground.

What was this?

“It might not be valet as you'd normally see.”

With ATT I have no doubt that it will not be normal.
If it’s anything like the Ticket 2 Ride train wreck I expect to see a number of cars half parked, doors and windows left open, lost keys, waiting forever for pickup, excuses and blame for missing things, flat tires, cars parked in circles, six valets for every car, describing your car and color 5 times before they understand, and the manager of the valet crew being a dim wh-t hippy lady that has trouble focusing on the very sentence she’s trying to form and sh-t out of her empty head.

I am in at 6AM reserving seats daily. I charge $5 per seat reservation per person. Currently I have control of one whole section, but looking for others to join me in taking over other floors/sections.

@aa+1jhfv1vte this was the case for the parking garages in Basking Ridge, NJ during the Gulf War. It was fine if you weren't in a hurry to leave.

"These are the same employees who would complain about parking even if they had dedicated spots in front of the building."

When it's time to leave, it's time to leave. I've got kids to pick up and I don't know how long these valets are going to take.

It might not be valet as you'd normally see.

Years ago, I worked in a location with a large parking deficit. The "valets" were employees of a security company. Cars would be stacked, double, triple, and quadruple parked, and grouped by approximate planned exit time. If you needed to leave and were blocked in, the guards would grab the keys for cars behind you and move them for you to exit.

The keys were kept on a giant board by position. Blocked cars often had the keys left inside, only cars on the end were locked.

Not saying this is what will be done, but I've been park of it before.

It’s not 3/4 of the lot. More like 1/4.

But I did notice that people are not using the valet parking.

T hired a valet service. No offense but valet services aren’t exactly know for hiring the most standup people. Now you have to remove everything of value from your car. Return to the car expecting someone else's cologne or BO, and inspect and defend against any scratches or door dings. If you don’t tip on drop off and pickup, you’re basically sc--wed. Oh and check that your catalytic converter hasn’t been stolen. Great plan Jeremy. You never disappoint do you?
