Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Brain drain will be the end of T

The fact that the leadership is not only not trying to keep the best, experienced employees, but actively working on getting rid of as many as possible will be the end T. Finding talent too expensive to keep is a good short term tactic for padding the numbers, but long term it's going to cost T more than they can imagine.

“I doubt it. No such thing as an irreplaceable person.”

I lost a few IQ points after I read this. No one is irreplaceable?

What a sad existence you live. Where no one has value and can make a difference.

I live in a completely different reality where each of us makes a difference and collectively we can move mountains.

For example, under John we’ve seen the company lose approx 50% of its value. That can be attributed to one or two people making poor decisions for the rest of us. Imagine if we had basically anyone else with a brain leading. Same results?

No you m0r0n, it wouldn’t.

I doubt it. No such thing as an irreplaceable person.

I worked a AT&T when James Olsen, the CEO & Chairman of AT&T, died suddenly in 1988 and the place never missed a beat.

It’s still here, technically, but look at it… it’s a shell of what it once was.

People have been post about "the end of T" nonstop for years and yet it's still there

They aren’t trying to retain anyone. Just go look at all the external job postings. They want current employees gone and replaced. Then again, they are having trouble recruiting good talent.

The brain WAS drained about 15 years ago illustrated by RJS handing over billions in spectrum and cash to T mobile. Hey why not ask Stank at the next “open and transparent” employee town hall why in the he-l did he support such a boneheaded decision.
