Putting Fiserv Orange Lipstick on the Blue First Data Pig

So everyone thought the meger of Fiserv and First Data was going to be a good thing - and we would be one big, happy family. Not the case - the animosity from former FD employees was palpable from day 1. Frank and the blue wave came in and took over and just slapped orange lipstick on a blue pig. The pig is still the same - nothing has changed except that the former Fiserv culture has been slowly but surely ki---d off.

What was once a positive place to work, where employees were supported, encouraged and appreciated has turned into a place where you aren't trusted and are monitored all the time. Installing Sapience in the name of 'gaining efficiencies', is just BS. Have the guts to call it what it is - spying and lack of trust. Saying that Frank monitors badge swipes and questions when you aren't in the office (even for R&R) is stated like it is something to be proud of. When I first heard this I thought to myself "if the new CEO has nothing better to do than monitor the comings and goings of employees he isn't focused on what he needs to be."

Frank was the incompetent CEO of First Data and ran it into the ground and is still the same incompetent CEO of Fiserv. He has gutted a great company and forced out a thousands of years of knowledge and talent from many long term (20+ years), loyal and hard working employees. When presented with the option of moving to NJ to fulfill the quota Frank said that they would have at the 'new building' or separating, many have chosen to leave. From what I understand, they are having a hard time filling the building and even if people moved, they are still getting laid off.

In short, if you are still at Fiserv, run! Run like your hair is on fire! If you are looking to join Fiserv, save yourself and keep looking.

Former FD here. We didn’t have animosity for FISV following the acquisition. We felt that WE were going to be the ones losing jobs or being moved under new leadership, and of course there was uncertainty. It was two groups with different cultures coming together and figuring out how it fits. A lot of fellow colleagues were looking forward to a lot of the things FISV had to offer. I understand being very unhappy under FB, but all the FD employees weren’t carrying his banner. We weren’t an invading army. We were just doing our jobs, trying to stay employed and following managements direction. Can we drop the premise that “all FD was like this… and all FISV was like that..”. Totally misdirected

The buffer is gone. Most of the long-time managers have been let go also.

I worked for FD before FB took over. I saw. FB destroy FD and left for Fiserv which was still a good place to work under JY. When the merger happened I was anxious to see FBs role. When I saw he was COO I was very concerned but had hopes that JY could keep it together. Once JY left, I knew what was coming. COVID sure was a convenient excuse to do away with Fiserv Forum for good. You know that’s never coming back. The only thing that keeps Fiserv From being a total disaster are some of the long time managers who serve as a buffer for their staff. Once they are gone there is no floor for what will happen at Fiserv.

After I dropped off my laptop, the first song to come up on the radio was ‘Goodbye to you’, it was literally a perfect moment.

Amen - This is the absolute truth! As a long term, impactful employee - I am just waiting for the shoe to drop. I am just sick about the knowledge that has already been RIF’d. It really seems like the company is being stripped for a reason.

As a former associated told me one day....FD bought Fiserv with Fiserv's money.

I never felt the animosity from FD. Because of my job I spoke to a lot of OFD people. To me they seemed beat down more than anything. Keep in mind they were dealing with FB before any of us were. As for the merger, I never believed the propaganda of how great it will be. They were pushing that message too hard and I was seeing red flags everywhere.

As Fiserv employees, we were all suspicious when both JY and FB were both in charge. We all saw the writing on the wall and many started looking elsewhere. Was it a merger or acquisition? It now appears it was a hostile takeover with JY being voted out by FB’s board. At the end of the day, he can do what he wants and how he wants and the clients will have the last word. R.I.P. Fiserv.

As original FD, I can say that FB sucked. We were all looking forward to being a part of Fiserv. We saw the Fiserv benefits and WFH. We were led to believe we would be under JY. We saw greener pastures, building improvements, etc. we were disappointed and mad when JY left and FB moved up. He destroyed our hopes
