Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T Su-ks after you leave too!

So, was surplussed. Received severance.. Medical benefits supposed to be in tact for 6 months (Pay my portion of what I paid for 6 months) THey have purposely sc--wed around and cut all my benefits, After Multiple calls to Benefits center and they all agree it should not happen. It still has. AT&T makes it nearly impossible for you to connect with someone to rectify situation... first, an impossible IVR system to get to talk to someone, then when you conect, they advise you its the wrong depatment and switch you.. when you get to supposably the right spot, "all our reps are busy" message comes on... option to have them "call you back without losing your place in line" after many of those messages, if you dont accept that, the phone just hangs up and start the process over again, when you do it and opt for them to call you back, they never do... So nw, I am without Health insurance, cannot connect with anyone, and no option to correct situation... THanks for taking good care of your ex 13Year+ surplussed employee.. it is done purposely to make you go away so they dont have to pay. Terrible Company this has become, and get out while you can still get a severance... that will be the next cut I was told. It is not only the health benefits... it is ANY call I need to make ack to the Benefits center about anything... even FSA reimbursements are being denied... then have to hop through hoops to get tons of paperwork and good luck speaking to someone about that either.

@a7 Lantern is awful. Been seeing an Orthopedic surgeon for helping me determine what to do with my knee and hip. He is great and right near my house. Now if I need to actually go forward with a procedure, he is not in the Lantern network. In fact, instead of the dozen of well qualified surgeons within a mile of my house, Lantern has 3-4 options who are miles away and way less qualified. Way to go AT&T!!

Retired Employee that lives in Massachusetts. We have some of the best healthcare in the country. I need spine surgery but have to choose a surgeon in NYC, CT or KY. I’m the caregiver of my 90 year old parent. Since traveling that distance is not possible, I will have to 100% cost of surgery. I’m in shock!

In a just world Stank would be facing class action and individual lawsuits for EEOC AGE DISCRIMINATION. They targeted employees based on AGE to cheat this class out of 50% pension benefit . Some will argue about AT WILL BLAH BLAH but there regs , AGE DISCRIMINATION is 1 . Stank blackmailed everyone into waivers for severance . Complete ID--T SC-MBAG .

They've stepped on retirees for years. They put in their time and after retirement, even took benefits away. Those who left having the rule of 75 thinking they'd get the medical supplement even after medicare found they were forced into a horrible advantage plan with limited doctors. So expect this from ATT. They care even less about you when your gone.

My experience as a 10yr surplus coming off 18 months of CEC/Cobra...

  1. The call center person may or may not understand English or your issue, no matter how simple.
  2. If you insist on getting the problem resolved, one of three things happen:
  3. They lie and say "All is OK. it's fixed"
  4. They "open a ticket" and tell you to call back in in 7-10 business days (their favorite blow-off) and when you do, they usually can't even find a ticket.
  5. They do something to your account that is absolutely wrong and gift you another week on the phone trying to untangle their mess.

You know why this is happening? Because they had so many HR people working outside the hubs, and they wouldn't move, so most in HR are now a bunch of newbies that have no idea what they are doing.

Just more of Stankey doing his Stank thing.

Happened to me. I'm on Medicare but I Cobra'd the dental. They canceled and gave back all my premiums because a payment was late. But it was an AUTODEBIT! They took their own payment "late" and then canceled bc of it.

Fixed now, but I have to log in and pay every month since they can't be trusted to pay themselves. Unreal.

The AT&T Guarantee says you should get the help you need. Perhaps they can give you a day of wireless credit or a coupon for 25% off an accessory.

Retiree single medical cost 1000 a month. If you need joint, hip, knee, etc surgery you must use & go through a company call Lantern. You do not have a choice. Pre approval for anything is a must now too.You continued to get stepped on after you retire.

The thing with the medical insurance seems to have happened to nearly all recently laid off, looking at one of the FB groups. They all describe the same thing you do.

Crazy that don’t seem to realize they have a global issue impacting so many, and just fix it…instead you have all of these folks like yourself trying to open individual tickets.
