Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Business WiFi or internet

You need to talk to someone in leadership. It doesn’t matter, as long as you badge swipe a few times a week and you work from any business that has business Internet. I know it sounds crazy, but senior leadership has shared that they don’t fully know how they are tracking this. Apparently, as long as you badge swipe, you don’t have to stay in the office. You can work from anywhere that has business Internet, or business Wi-Fi.

Not sure I agree. I badge into an office two buildings over from my designated one. Never had a problem. Maybe because its same set of buildings its ok but definitely different address.

Same person from yesterday offering opinions with no insight into how any of this works?

You are incorrect on all counts.

There is more than one way to determine how an employee is connecting to the network. If there are suspicions, there are other logs that could be checked. For instance, is your device Mac or associated ip seen going through the network equipment at your assigned location. I would think a deliberate attempt to deceive management regarding where you are working from would be an ethics violation subject to consequences if you are caught.

I keep telling everyone to just get the stupid 50 dollar tool to grab the office wifi info and spoof it. Badge in, grab the info, go home, spoof if and connect. You won’t be connected to their real wifi, only a hot spot, but the laptop spyware will write the identifying info to their d-mb network log file and upload it to the id--ts. They’re just dummies doing mass data collection for a stupid power bi report. Nobody is reading you LAN report personally. It gets updated and the report just flags people not connected to the proper location.

We are treated like animals. Crammed in the crowded buildings and tracked. Anger and aggression is growing among us. How long will this last?

As someone who has access to the presence report this is 100% a troll post. Y'all saw previous posts about how they handled coffee badgers. You may THINK you're getting away with something but eventually you'll be caught and terminated. If you're willing to risk that be my guest.

You have to badge in and work from your assigned location. Reporting shows whether or not you are in your assigned location

This is true, as long as you’re on the “internal network” and badged you’ll be flagged as fine.
