RTO for people with waivers due to "health"

Many people were hired as "in office" over the years, worked remote some before and during Covid but when RTO first started, submitted a waiver which allows them to still work remote due to "health" reasons.

No mention of them ever returning to office. Not trying to give anyone ideas, but do what you will with that information.

“The waivers are still being approved for the last 2 years where I am. Multiple people on the same team.”

I can confirm. My org is riddled with these. Two of them on my team and I’m aware of 3 others. Trust me, this is absolutely still going on.

None have been approved in my group within last 12-14 months.

“They told employee to resubmit request and doctor documentation, and it was denied. No longer with company. Said nope, not going to RTO and not going to move.”
Success story.

At this point you could be in an iron lung and still get denied unless you are someone’s nepobaby.

Medical waivers are not permanent they must be resubmitted with medical documentation at a set timeframe based on medical issue 30 days, 6mths, ect. And company has been denying them upon resubmission.

" Bird Flu sweeping the nation..."

A total of 66 human cases since April of last year among US dairy and poultry workers.

Yup. Spreading through the office like wildfire.

Um, yeah. Had a teammate last year who got a medical waiver probably 20 years ago. Company pretty much revoked it when RTO started. (They they told employee to resubmit request and doctor documentation, and it was denied.) No longer with company. Said nope, not going to RTO and not going to move.

Bird Flu sweeping the nation will end RTO soon anyway.
