Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Job hunting at my age

I'm getting ready to make a move after months of planning, but the anxiety is intense. I'm terrified that my age will stop me from even landing an interview. I've seen so many talented people in their 50s who are still struggling to find work after layoffs or performance reviews. There's not much I can change about it, but that fear is definitely keeping me up at night.

The best way to get a new job is to currently have a job. Act now! It will just get harder for you after a RIF

Can you share a few reputable resume service company names?

I don't know how old you are but I found a new job a few months ago and I'm in my 50's. People want to hire whoever can get the job done. Best of luck to you!

Agree with the previous comment. I know a lot of Fiserv folks who left that are in your age bracket. Get a service, or better yet, a career coach to help tailor your resume/cover letter and you will be fine. What will disqualify you from interviews far more than age is not getting your resume/application through the screening softwares most companies use to weed out applicants.

Have your resume and LinkedIn reviewed/ revised by a service- it’s worth it. Remove data from your resume that indicates your age, keep recent relevant employment experience. I’m in your age range and didn’t start getting interviews until I did this. I got out- you can, too! Make it your job to get a new job. Good luck!
