Thread regarding SAP layoffs

I'm cautiously optimistic

SAP hasn’t been the same company for a while, but I’m seeing some positive changes. I think 2025 might bring us closer to where we were a few years ago, before layoffs and forced attrition became the norm. I could be wrong, but I’ve decided to stay positive for a change. We’ll see how it works out for me.

Yes, I predict stock will reach $300.layoffs will be completed by q1. Streamlining and standardization helps. Layoff is a permanent feature in today’s world. No point complaining.

HR finally focusing on cultural evolution Sap is the best use case for AI. And if sap can keep the promise and deliver efficiency and productivity gain using AI to most enterprise customers then sky is the limit.

The comment “the company chooses when you stop working” is spot on! I was made redundant (the oldest member of my team) at 61 and my friend and colleague at 62. We had both just won awards for our performance, were catalysts, and told our jobs were not at risk. We were by no means the highest paid team members. Fortunately, we’ve both found other roles (and with higher compensation packages), but that is highly unusual this close to retirement and I know of others who are over 55 and struggling to find employment.

I will only be optimistic when I see that we are going to release new applications which will enable our growth in revenue over the next decade. We (still) need to build out cloud revenue replacement for the onprem products which were sunset.

I’m not optimistic for NA and Europe based employment - with any tech company not required to hire local talent. For my whole career, I’ve watched management look for the cheapest source of labor. Short of a “workers revolution” this will not stop. The only game a tech worker has in NA or Europe is to stack as much cash as you can while you are working, because the company chooses when you stop working.

The only positive change right now is the stock price. That's what CK is after.

In a couple of years, - if he is still CEO - he'll understand that making good products should have been a better target.

Hi,
I have same opinion till I laid off in USA. I am one of the core consultant and solution expert who have all SAP Planning applications experience that includes SAC Planning, PaPM,DWC. But I move to solution experience in 2017 that caused axe on my position. Donot think too much that SAP is doing good till they axe you. Keep searching for job and try to find good position. Market is so bad and layoff may cause ripple effect if you donot have back up plan. I joined as sr consultant in 2006 and yesterday One recruiter asked me to join as sr consultant (20 years) time travel . I am also AWS ,SAP ,TOGAF, CPA,CMA

@bc+1jgzhmr4f I hope the irony of you making that comment and not wording it correctly doesn't get lost on anyone

Positivity for positivity's sake is not positivity, it is gullibility.

Why would you be "optimistic"? Your role is about to be replaced by cheap, third world labour.
