Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Hope I don’t crash my car on the way home in the snow.

Just got the call from the kids school. Early dismissal due to snow.

Guess I gotta use that PGCL time to go get them now!

Hope I don’t crash on the way home!

Who is to blame if something happens to me because they demanded I report during inclement weather?

Oh look I still have their email telling me I have to report. This should come in handy!

Its Frosty the Snowman who is liable. AT&T didn't force anyone to work or make the snow. Quit the crying !

Are you an adult?

When I worked 8 to 5 - I was at work by 7:30 and left around 5.

If you don't like the rules, quit, move, go.

And NO. If you have a wreck - it's on you unless your on company business using your personal car which use of requires 4th level approval.

You must be a millennial.

We all received the email on RTO starting 1/6 with two cities being delayed. Please stop complaining. It is not becoming.

Instead of worrying about who to blame, just don't crash your car. Problem solved.

We’ve always had to report to the office in inclement weather.

Look at the paid Stankey trolls! He’s hired extra yards for today!

Real ATT employees know no one would defend the Stank. It’s so obvious!

"Who is to blame if something happens to me because they demanded I report during inclement weather?"

The same entities that were responsible prior to the Covid-19 pandemic. Liability law didn't change. New rights and liabilities haven't appeared.

It is your responsibility to get to the office on time; in order to report to your job. Not sure if you now can suddenly take a 1/2 day vacation, without prior notice. Back in the BST days employees had to secure hotel rooms; in order to make it into the office during snow/ice storms & walked to the office.

“Show me where it says I should take a personal day when the weather is fine when I drive in and becomes worse as the day goes on.

I’ll wait.

I have an email right here. Says 5 days RTO starting 1/6. Nothing else.

Corporate policy is not dictated by word of mouth. It’s in writing.”

Soooo you’re not 12, you’re just incompetent.

If you are injured in an accident while being forced to commute to a location where you do not need to be to perform your job, you have a nice lawsuit settlement coming your way.

“So you knew it was going to snow and instead of taking a PTO day you chose to go to the office and now want to blame someone because you have to drive in the snow when you could have just taken the entire day off knowing what was coming? Are you 12?”

I’m sorrry you’re right. Please copy and paste the official ATT policy on 5 days RTO.

Show me where it says I should take a personal day when the weather is fine when I drive in and becomes worse as the day goes on.

I’ll wait.

“I am not a shill or a boot li---r, and I am not a fan of what is going on.

But your post makes it sound like no one in this country has to drive to and from work, and that doing so is somehow violating OSHA laws.

You're being ridiculous.”

No, you're a bootlicker. I was told I must report 5 days to the office 1/6. There are no other rules in writing in this email. Therefore I am following company policy at the request of my leadership. There are no stipulations in writing.

Can you please point me to the official ATT policy for 5 days RTO?
