Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What would the stock value of AT&T be if it didn’t lose 150 billion dollars with failed mergers and acquisitions if the price of the stock is 22

To calculate the hypothetical stock price of AT&T if it hadn’t lost $150 billion due to failed mergers and acquisitions:

Known Information:

  1. Current stock price: $22.67
  2. Current market capitalization (approx.): $162.8 billion
  3. Outstanding shares: ~7.18 billion shares
  4. Hypothetical increase in market cap: +$150 billion

Steps:

  1. Adjusted market cap:

  1. Adjusted stock price:

Conclusion:

If AT&T hadn’t lost $150 billion, the stock price could potentially be around $43.56, assuming no other significant changes in the market.

Two men, devalued the company by 50% and they’re still in control.

Unfckingbelievable!

Permitted to continue his reign of dysfunction and failure.

If John Hayes was not cheated out of the President & CEO instead of Ed Whithead because Ed promised Zane Bobo a job due to his divorce loss. $105.93

Regardless, the money to service the debt could be paid as dividends, the return to stock holders would be greater; then the stock price would be higher.

It’s actually more than 50%. It would be a 100% gain from this point. Plus imagine all the fiber we could have already put in the ground over the same time period. Instead of LOSING it all. It’s insane when you really break it down. Will be used as a case study in college finance/business classes for the rest of time.

I love when people do math like this. It is appalling that there has been no accountability and even worse that they see no problem. YOLO I guess.

Also our fearless leader is getting handsomely compensated. Employees and shareholders should request clawback to pay down debt. Do you agree (hit like)? If not, why?

I know what will fix this.

If I force everyone into the office 5 days a week, it will resolve all of those failed acquisitions!

I think we should allow the same person who devalued the company by 50% to lead. He wants to do a stock buyback instead of paying off debt. Genius!
