@2dfm- you're right but you're missing the point. Once a union is put in place they're nearly impossible to get rid of... their lawyers make sure of that. Also, if you're not in a right-to-work state, membership is mandatory. Functionally they receive a guaranteed income with dues from a captive workforce. There is really no incentive for them to actually do anything for us. They pay lip service to the membership, but it's just to keep us from rocking the boat too much. The true primary goal for them in negotiations is to get the company to hire more so their due units (their income base) is increased.
Unions no longer benefit the working people except by coincidence or accident.

Your job requires standing and talking. What kind of union can protect you from a job anyone over the age of 16 can do?
As much as VZ sucks I would never go with CWA as a union. Grass roots would be the way to go.
Looks like the poor SOBs in Frontier CA were sure blindsided by the CWA
@1qxl+1jfMTA0a- this is what union dues get you? That's a funny type of protection.
yeah thats a quick way to get union busters at your store and someone fired. If you want to unionize get the ball rolling and only let the company know very last minute. Blindsiding them is super important for pulling this off.
1 union please sir
You don't tell someone you want a union, you JUST DO IT.
Not really...
