A buddy from a different group said his team had a meeting yesterday and their manager mentioned his team would not be affected by upcoming RIFs. My team was not given any such direction, gulp.

Do you have any valid source as to indirect account managers actually being laid off? Or are you just saying that because you think they should be!
And who will support all the agents if they eliminate all indirect account managers? There’s a huge discrepancy there for all major agents

- Sr Manager teams whose functions can be absorbed by other teams
- Teams with a high number of band 7T, 7V, and 8V employees performing non-critical roles
- High tenured/High Salaried employees -in non-critical roles - typically band 7/8 making above market rate who never cared to move up nor have the skills or education to do it …

VERIZON DOES A RIF EVERY YEAR. NO DIFFERENT THIS YEAR AT THE END OF OCTOBER. THE STOCK PRICE WILL TELL YOU THAT IT WILL BE A HUGE RIF. DUH.
As others have said and my manager has brought up as a point, normally when there are rifs they have put on a hiring and travel freeze by this time in the year but that is not the case this year. So it wouldn’t make sense to be hiring new people in the same weeks your doing a rif.

I have had managers that would tell us and ones that wouldn’t just depends on if they want to share that info.
For VBG this is 100% accurate 27th October there will be an announcement or an email you will receive. This will be impacting US employees, International employees will then be notified a few weeks later.
Depending on what department you are in the layoffs appear to be significant, up to 30%
