I’ve been at Intel for 4 years and it wasn’t a question of if there would be layoffs in 2022, but really a question of when. Y’all are trolling to think it wasn’t coming. As an engineer, I’m definitely looking forward to reversing some of the poor hiring decisions that were made in this department. Not a good time to be low hanging fruit and glad to see we’re making moves to compost.

This is the 3rd layoff I have been through with this company. Buckle up and enjoy the ride kiddo
It might be like this.
Sheldon Cooper: Howard I have never said that you are not good at what you do. It's just that what you do is not worth doing.
- there is a freeze on openings
- They're not just letting poor performers off!
My son is not low hanging fruit. In fact he was promoted a few months ago and is known for his data analytical skills and report compilations throughout several groups. He was put on the chopping block along with his manager and one other employee just hired a few months ago. He is still employed until December 31st and if he doesn’t find another job within Intel (now their is a freeze on openings) by January 1st he will receive his severance package. Their not just letting poor performers off!
Senior PEs are being laid-off in DCAI group so nobody is safe.
Hopefully you get let go too, you are def part of the problem
@1ipq+1jcG2Fe4 -- dGPU will be most profitable business in next few years. Why ki-l it? Recently AXG team launched awesome products at competitive price and selling well.
When they cut engineers they keep those from India and non-Indian are always the ones to cut.
Dump the failed projects: graphics that means you.
Engineers should be cut too. I see some bad engineers from India that needs some culling.
you stopped me when you said "y'all".
Problem is that they’re ZBBing and we have no way of knowing what inputs they plugged into their magical HR AI machine to determine who/where the cuts impact.
For example, it seems that at least within some SG&A teams, they are assessing whether departments/projects can be cut, combined, outsourced, etc; and redundant positions created by such actions eliminated. Nobody is safe based on performance alone - perhaps not even seniority, and honestly I feel they are downplaying the total breadth and scale of the HC impact to keep the rats from fleeing the sinking ship before they can choose who to eliminate on their terms.
On the eng side, you may be more likely to be spared than we unfortunate souls on the SG&A side of the business. At least you’re tied to revenue.
