Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Any news

All of us are stressed out over impending lay offs. We’ve had restructuring and reorganization of multiple teams and upper leaders in markets have already received notices. At least 10 leaders have left or have announced their retirement. SIU, IT and marketing have also already received notices. When will the rest of us find out?

As the 31st is a holiday and a weekend, to be eligible for AIP you may need to work throughout that date, since your last day can’t be PTO. PTO and AIP are also taxed at close to 40%

I do believe according to the employee handbook regarding AIP you must be working on 12/31/2022 to receive or be eligible for the AIP. Additionally that would mean November 1 would be the 60 day mark to notify as then they would not have to pay out AIP to those affected. Saving Humana a lot of money. If you make it through the RIF be aware that your salary increases will likely be delayed for "on paper" savings as well. There is also no guarantee there will be an AIP to actually pay out. Do your homework on the handbook. It is subject to change at any time and you should know what you need to do to receive the maximum amount of payout if you are RIFd. Including any PTO accrual.

It’s going to be around November 2nd, it correlates to the quarter and end of year.

I am starting to question this whole thing ..we have been told they are giving 60 days notice...we at the end of another week and still silence

In past lay offs, I’ve known people to be given notice and then be released a week or a month or so later, not working the 60 day notice period, but still getting paid throughout. This is supposed to be time allowed to look for other jobs, not busting your bu-t exceeding productivity requirements, since many are checked out . I’ve also known people that were forced to work the entire 60 days and treated like garbage throughout, which is sad. I believe notices will start around the last week of the month and continue through mid November since some may be asked to work past Jan. 1. Just play nice if you want your severance and AIP, but don’t hesitate to get HR involved if your leader is clueless or is not allowing you time to search for another job.

The only news now will be when someone posts they got the email to the meeting and we will know it’s starting/ending. Some things to keep in mind…you have to work through December 31st to be eligible for AIP. The 31st is usually a PTO day. Does that mean you have to be working on January 2nd to be eligible, or are you out of consideration for it if your last day of the RIF is the 31st? Is there a call back list….if people resign after the RIF, are you eligible to have one of those positions?

*PITA….
And, then returns it to HR, who in turn, disseminate it down, leaders don’t often know until just before you do.

An outside 3rd party makes the list based on the PiT

Correct, usually it happens a few hours to a day before, it happens very quickly, the RIF meeting, and then usually a town hall type meeting to say it happened - the time frame doesn’t change, look for the RIF meeting around the 2nd

Based on reading posts on here, group emails from senior leadership in Retail and Clinical Operations I believe additional layoffs will be announced the first week of November. Would love to know sooner but I am stuck waiting. Good luck!
