Good ones who got laid off struggling to find new job. Some rotten ones using LinkedIn an d company wide layoffs news strategically to get hired back into Oracle.

What a sad place to get sucked back into.
“Will you walk into my parlour?" said a spider to a fly;
" 'Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy.
The way into my parlour is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things…
Pocket recorder is a good idea
In my mind I would always be looking over my shoulder if rehired, worried it could happen again..
Yes indeed. Never know who might have a recorder in their pocket also.
Some good ones are not that desperate though. Waiting to see how some things turn out.
Bitter much…Looks like you are not a good judge of talent if you perceive the rotten ones getting employment and the good ones struggling…just saying. Hope you are not a manager or maybe you are a manager who for many years held back good talent to ensure they would never go higher than them which you have perceived as rotten. I wonder how these people being rehired are fairing now…hopefully in a better position and paid more or what they deserve.
How do you use company-wide laid off news to get hired back in? So, they RIF someone and hire them back to an area where they are RIF'ing people? Makes no sense. Besides, there are thousands of companies out there. Yes, some might have to take a pay cut because they let theor skills go stale with Oracle. If they are in cloud sales and trying for an OCI job, good luck with that as well. Despite Safra and Larry making marketing and sales comments about OCI, in reality customers made that decision a long time ago and are not going to be moving off of deals they signed into the 100 million or more range. Nor are they going to re-platform to OCI from other cloud providers because Oracle's compute might be cheaper. That's crazy. Especially if they are on AWS with more services tied into their solution or on Azure and are a Microsoft shop. I am awaiting the news on the big companies Larry mentioned that will be moving to OCI. Oh, Cerner. SMH
I guess the question is why would you want to be rehired? Truly I understand the need to pay bills, roof over one’s head, food, heat, lifestyle. In my mind I would always be looking over my shoulder if rehired, worried it could happen again.. Happy if that’s what one wants to be back, but also remember your mental health matters.. It does..
Glad that you got back in!
How are they doing that?
