Ford right now is a big disappointment. The company's leadership, to be precise. What did this leadership do to improve Ford?

I was told The Ford family also had ties to Na-i (Not-See) Germany. I remember back in the 1980’s when one of the old timers told me that some of the building steelwork/beams in rouge complex had swastikas cast into them.
Always wanted to see a picture of that.
Plenty of LL5s got cut in August. My boss, who was great was one, he wasn't an a-s kisser and got work done! What needs to be cut are all the useless LL4s, my director hides at home and is useless. Very concerned, over the past month we haven't been working on anything. Alot of my colleagues were moved out to a digital team. Anyone hear when next layoffs are happening?
Duh, the Family Motor Company will always cut ties with GSRs and LL6s because leadership won’t have to feel bad about eliminating faceless salaried. The amount of retention of LL5+ in the face of 2022 layoffs, PEPs, and “retirement” options is just sickening to LL6-GSR8 employees that actually worked their butts off but still got separated with little severance.
@2ybs+1jZh4yYr, your idea is mostly wishful thinking. It's not so easy for a manager to turn in one of their own simply for abusing a direct report.
There is a very strict code of silence, or omertà, in management. Those who have joined the ranks of management, as made men, use the phrase "snitches get stiches".
2023 is going to be a nasty bloodbath. Farley knows he better produce or he's out. Bill isn't the brightest, but the family's greed will force change. They shut Argo down, they're shutting down MSC and they will shut down anything that doesn't produce profit. It's disgraceful and it will forever tarnish Ford's reputation what they did to countless loyal employees with the excuse new skills were needed. Look around at the quiet reorgs and DF's ridiculous note to bring in the best and his no a#*ho-e rule while the biggest one is CEO! Ford Pro, Model E, Next, Blue best thing to happen cause no one will be able to hide. Louis Victor is a mess, my guess is by Q3 he's out, and more cuts will happen.
They’ve taken all of the experience and thrown it away. They hire these “directors” who don’t know anything about vehicles. Last GTH- one said “customers want X when we have a recall”. WRONG! Customers don’t want RECALLS! The engineers aren’t given the time to do their jobs properly. No one follows procedures because they take too long to complete. EV’s? If I’m paying $50k for a vehicle, I’d better NOT have to pay for a new battery in 7 years! And the cost of the charging equipment? And everything being a subscription?
Upper management has tanked this company. They want to do X but don’t offer up any suggestions on how to get there. Moral sucks because everyone is worried about losing their jobs. It seems that there isn’t anyone who knows what we should be doing.
No one verifies, double checks, confirms work output. Everyone just signs off and doesn’t delve into what is actually happening. Then everyone plays the blame game. Meanwhile, management is pocketing millions in pay and then they’ll say that there’s no bonus because we suck. Of course, that’s due to THEM.
I, too, think Ford is going down. I’ve been a big proponent of Ford…up until the past 3 years. CF has blatantly lied to employees in GTH, and busted himself later in other GTH with opposing statements.
I’m wondering how many more cuts we are going to go thru……
I came from GM. After the ignition switch issue, GM hired the law firm of Jenner & Block to do a deep dive on the flaws which led up to the tragic results of the ignition switch issue. One of the outcomes was the recognition of how critical the role of the DRE is. There were even pin-on buttons passed out, which read: "Support The DRE". We need some sort of program like this at Ford to recognize how critical that role is. Maybe a program called "See Something, Say Something". So if a supervisor witnesses abuse of a DRE, he reports the aggressive manager to HR. I know there is a "thin blue oval" in the management ranks, but it's for the sake of our enterprise.
Whether it’s called Smart Mobility or Ford Next, the issue is LACK OF PROFITS. This group of clowns has spent billions, and the revenue they have to show for it is a rounding error on our income statement.
We need this culling, but Bill and Jim will replace them with equally inept people. The guy in Ford Next that is angling to replace FLV is another one who thinks he is the smartest person in the room. They went outside last time, and as in over his head he is already, he thinks he’s going to get promoted to VP. The only way to fix Ford Next is to eliminate it, but Farley has convinced Bill that this is where BILLIONS in subscription revenue will come from. They are living in dream world, alternative reality.
There is no way no how that BF/DF and their army in HR will cut LL5+ staff, and more specifically, the LL5+ friends and family staff. I just saw a bully no nothing LL6 that had no business being even a LL6 get promoted to LL5 this past year. This guy should have been let go years ago with his work history. Oh but no, they promoted him. While those that attempted to speak to HR about him got ignored or retaliated against. And none of those people ever got above GSR level. Coincidence? I think not.
The upper management levels in Ford are so corrupt and self serving, it is the automotive version of the federal government.
LL4/3/2 cuts are coming in 2023. Farley is preparing to drop a few bo--s. After years of backstabbing, conniving and plenty of tirades, the sociopath isn't keeping anyone around that doesn't make him look like he's doing a good job ( or at least the appearance of one ).
Baumbick's move to quality is a joke, he's being set up for a boot. Louis-Victor is a disaster, cost the company billions and is getting kicked out ( like we haven't learned from Raj Rao's failures and Hackett's epic fail when Ford Smart Mobility was around ). Park and Ho are on short leashes and Jimmy isn't exactly happy with the progress they've made. Watch Lawler's face, he's developing a nervous twitch, not good. Work is waaaayyyy too quiet, something up and it's not going to be good for alot! Stay tuned!
@1igq - for average Joe's like us that aren't driven by excessive ambition and/or greed being happy retiring on a couple $million well invested is an option that those at the top don't have by their very nature. To ascend up to those ranks (often using knives in backs as climbing holds) requires an attitude of "too much is never enough" and will never be satisfied no matter how much they're raking in. They don't retire, they get pushed out the door and say "I'm retiring to spend more time with family" before moving on to the next company in either a salaried role or as a member of the BoD somewhere (or more often several other places).
Roz, Moser and a bunch of HP LOSERS. Who is bringing these id--ts over. LOL ,so you make a printer and you think you can make vehicles?! HP software, quality and products are some of the worst in the industry, yet FoMoCo hires these id--ts as leaders????
PLEASE, explain or better yet just get them the he-l out before they bleed this company dry.
@1lbe+1jZh4yYr It has been interesting watching all these cuts made at the LL6/GSR level this year while the same LL4+ management that got us into this scenario kept their jobs.
My LL6 told me that the ford family makes more money on rent than on vehicles. they own alot of property between dearborn and A squared along the 94 corridor. this being said just get out of the business of manufacturing and just do comercial relestte.
Don't forget our other Superstar Roz Ho, her accomplishments appear to go on lots of vacations and show pictures of them, drive around her neighborhood in a Raptor of some sort, Accomplishments and plans at Ford to date equal a big fat ZERO.
@1lbe+1jZh4yYr summed it all up.
The EV talk is all bs, at the 2013 NAIAS Ford announced huuuuuuge investments in EV, then again in 2018, everyone knows the Ford family eliminated all the pension eligible folks to save a few dollars and more coming through PEPs.
Lesson 1: Loyalty and achievements are not rewarded. EVERYONE is nothing more than a dollar sign and EVERYONE is expendable
Leaders are chosen based on accomplishments. PLEASE, can anyone list just 3 product wins by Farley???!!!!! Or Doug Field Or Franck Louis Victor Or ...............
Lesson 2: Hone your BS skills. Connive and backstab and brown nose skills and you to can become a CEO or VP. Just remember to jump ship every few years before you're exposed as a worthless fake; oh, but don't worry you would've already drained the company of millions for your own pockets.
Truth, transparency and putting ' People First ' are key for the success of a company.
Lesson 3 : USE YOUR WORDS. To lie, to avoid answering tough questions, to avoid communicating a clear plan and you guessed it, you to can be a CEO or VP!!!!!!
Those of us left are being moved around, indicates more cuts are coming. Lots of new people, of course brought in from places like Disney, Google, etc. Been lots of focus on Ford Next, its obvious Franck Louis Victor sold a bunch of bs during his time at Renault and at Ford, he's done. Rob Moser, an HP guy, also has nothing to show for all his talk, his org is a mess and he's out. It's insane seeing who was cut, who has retired and who has been hired going through Linkedin profiles. Laughed my bu-t off over Baumbick's praise of the steering wheel/ tabletop created by DFord ( another great example of BS ), he'll be gone soon once the recalls and lawsuits start.
PEPs, hardcore, quiet quitting blah blah blah, it's all a nasty cycle at Ford. 2023 is going to be rough. Looking at the ranks plenty of LL 5/ 4 / 3/ 2's to cut and they should be! Hey Doug, JF is counting on you LOL!
Listen to Scotty Kilmer on U-Tube. He recommends Toyotas, and Hondas mostly. He has 50yrs ex as a mechanic.
He never recommends fords.
Electric will not save ford, it is not sustainable and actually harms the environment. Just because of all the polution and dumping in the woods with 55 gallon barrels that manufactures have done cant be made up by evs.
I retired in 21. I remember a time when you were proud of the company and the products they had on the road. But that time has since passed.
BF his record speaks for itself. Every time he opens his mouth if you short the stock, you make a fortune.
- He was basically fired by his own family in 06 because he nearly drove the company into chapter 11. Sorry that story about him and Edsel and Elana rallying the family to approve AM was complete BS. Those three could not rally to figure out which shoe to tie
- Jim Hackett. what a wonderful hire that turned out to be. Talk about being out of your element. Man as way in over his head. but he was selected by the court jester himself.
- My favorite, the train station. Let's have a show of hands for that one. BF stand up and take a for your applause. You are a definite Dilbert nominee on that one. No one else could have pulled that off. nice when your name is on the side of the building.
JF Where do we start with him? What has this man actually done? He proclaims to be a leader, but he does not demonstrate any of the characteristics of what defines a LEADER.
Karma
Courage
Visionary
Trustworthy
A plan
Good speaker.
JF if you are a Leader let alone a man grow a pair tell the troops in NA what are the plans for NA Salaried Headcount. Your comments to the investors in February were disgraceful. You should be ashamed of yourself. Th engineers only do what they are told. They have no say in what goes into the vehicles, but you do. SO called product guy.
You came from Toyota you saw what made them great instead of implementing what they do you decided to do the polar opposite. Complexity is out of control as well as buildable combinations.
You lost the trust of the employees of this company because of your actions and comments you make. instead of inspiring the troops you pi-s them off.
Yes, Wall Street & the Free Press give you a pass instead of holding your feet to the fire.
No doubt you will go down along with BF as the dynamic duo who bankrupted the company.
SF. Professional job Mover. Lots of RED FLAGS there. So, the jury is out on this guy.
Nobody will doubt the company needed an overhaul. but the bureaucracy was in the middle management not the GSR or even LL6 ranks. Again, they do as they are told.
Inside of 10 years the Ford Motor Co. will cease to exist.

The family should either sell to a competitor or piece out the company and invest the money in a much more profitable venture other than automotive. Given the numerous complaints about the company on this blog, I'm sure the employees will find work other places and be much happier!
The wasting of capital needs to stop. The train station and Ford Next have spent BILLIONS, with zero return. And there is zero hope for either in the future. FLV and his team of clowns have not produced anything marketable after years of trying, they all need to be on PEPs, or better yet, immediately terminated.
Seriously, if you were on the books making a few million salary, and tens of millions in options per year, would you care how the company ran?
One year in means retirement for life.
Corporations pay people too much to not give an eff. He-l, I'll take a cool 300k to run the same corporation into the ground, and I'll save the company tens of millions in the process.
Think about it...
DFord? What a mess. Product of Hackett. Terminate Musgrave and half of the org wouldn't make a difference. FLV is a problem, noticed alot of former HP hacks in his org. Not good. All talk, no action. '23 is going to be a bloodbath, now that all the pensioners are gone, the PEPs will start. Plenty of LL4/3/2 contracts are expiring, they won't be renewed. Look at the reorgs, those left better get their cv's ready.
Ford so-called leadership are a disgrace and will leave a legacy of shame. Farley, a coward, will never be remembered as a leader. He will be known as a spineless coward who eliminated countless talent so the Ford family can save a little bit of money. There is no plan, whatever is communicated is poorly done. Inferior leaders are not held accountable for their failures. Obviously, I'm extremely angry, over the last 5 years I've witnessed fakes and rejects create confusion. Has Dford produced anything of value? Franck Louis Victor is incapable of bringing anything to market, yet Farley does not hold him accountable! More layoffs? Damn right. Plenty of LL3/2's with targets on their back. 2023 is going to be an insane ride.
They positioned pink bunny slippers to be cute during townhalls. Bill's heart melted.
@qpd+1jZh4yYr
Right. They are stealing from current and ex employees labor.
they improved their pockets.
For eg : Imagine a worthless person like Doug field getting a 10mil salary a year
that is 40k biweekly .............
These guys are making other hard working employees feel like trash.
