Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Fiserv Well Positioned for the Future

Fiserv is well positioned. It was a early mover on getting its cost structured sized for the tough economic headwinds, was first to return back to work in a reasonable way and has a great client base who utilize hundreds of Fiserv products and services! The S&P 500 is down 15% for the year and Fiserv is up 5%. Great leadership and a wonderful associate based has the company well positioned to be the industry leader for years to come!

Ohio to the rescue?? I thought Team CBUS was moved to Berkeley Heights. Wasn’t that the narrative from 10 months ago?

What happened? Bus break down?

We get fees based on the amount that people pay. So when prices go up, we get more money. And when we get more money, we lay people off.

This is the logic they want you to believe.

They were always going to lay these people off. If it wasn't this excuse, they would have used a different excuse.

RTO aside, there were too many layoffs and of the wrong people. That is true. Fiserv did also see the economic downturn before others. They usually do as they have access to amazing data of spending, credit, balances etc. the things that drive the economy. Fiserv can see the indicators first. So, some hedging was due and is becoming more apparent a correct move as other companies announce layoffs. Inflation forces unemployment. It is tried and true.

It's cheaper when they have an excuse to fire people vs having to lay them off and pay a severance.

This is just as out of touch as that "talking point" message they sent out. All cherry picked nonsense.

"was first to return back to work in a reasonable way" = close down offices during a pandemic, then tell all these newly remote, now office-less workers that they either need to move to NJ or be laid off. Almost as comical as saying Fiserv has great leadership! LMAO
