Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Corunna Tecumseh Plant

With all but 4 compressors being decommissioned at the Tecumseh station by the end of 2023, along with the 36" pipeline going in, i'm sure the operators at Tecumseh must be getting worried about their jobs.

Read between the lines and start job hunting guys, you know your jobs are coming to end soon after the work is complete. Best case scenario, Enbridge will keep half of you at most but it's highly doubtful. Upper managment has already given signals it's going to happen.

Best leave now before your laid off, as finding a job while unemployed is much harder than jumping ship while still being employed.

I will be blunt. We plan to retain 30-40 %.

Most of the operators at Tecumseh don't hold any class of power engineering tickets. This means the ones that don't will be in trouble (so most of them). Especially the older ones, as age will be against them too. Just because you have years of experience as a operator, doesn't mean you will find another job as an operator, if you don't have the proper licenses.

Don't leave. Get that severance!
Those guys are probably past the prime of their careers anyway, and have enough experience to get whatever job they want.
