Backroom Associates!! Are there 2 of you on weekend mornings or just one?? How about during the week? Three or just two? I feel like our club is not giving us enough help so just checking to see how other clubs are scheduling. I am not including the closer backroom associate.

3 ft am associates 1 ft evening associate I am part time evening and only do claims I do unload trucks if someone on vac or calls in.
We have 3 FT am backroom associates. All three of us work Tuesday-Thursday. Two of us work Monday and Friday. One person works Saturday and Sunday. Night time we are lucky if we have one person. Most of the time they push everything on the day crew because that fresh truck took all of their time.
We have 3 full time am and 2 full time pm ! Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday are our heavy truck days so we all are scheduled to work!
We have 3 on am. No pm because nobody wants it. We have a guy whose been with the company for 18+ years and he calls off all the time. Uses protected. Plays the system and screws everybody. Does nothing but unload. Doesn’t even check email. Now he says he’s putting his 2 weeks notice. Please do. He’s the problem but he thinks he’s a savior. See ya. Bye.
here's a story for you... there is a guy in our receiving area who used to be a team lead on the floor.. he has an ego that can fill a semi trailer. He was nearly everything negative in a team lead as could possibly be. As time would play out he made his way to receiving. When I worked on the dock and needed help he said to me one night when I was in desperate need Well you better look alive back here is all I can say.... then one day after he became a dock person and I a merchandiser he was whining to me about all he had to do... I looked at him and said better look alive is all I can tell you.... yes receiving has become an undesirable place but some folks deserve being there....
"Over $100 million club"
2 FT morning shift
1 FT evening shift
1 PT who does 2 morning shifts and 2 evening shifts.
We have been short 2 positions ever since the backroom position was created.
No one wants to take this job for $15.00 an hour - and I don't blame them.
I have yet to see or hear of any 3pm to 11:30pm Backroom associates in any club that do anything remotely related to Claims. What is the point of having them there between 3pm and 8pm if they have little to no trucks or deliveries on most days?
3 on days 1( barely) on 2nds… everything falls on day shift . Claims is a joke until we have visitors then it is important . The pay structure is lower for receiving that forklift merchandisers .. apparently home office hasn’t caught up to the fact we have to drive lifts to unload trucks . We get stuck cleaning up after merchandisers when they dump stuff in the back .. we are way under paid and under appreciated .
many years ago when I was in receiving it was THE place to be. Day shift unloaded trucks and filled the dock. Night shift ran the freight from the dock. There were 2 people in claims. There were 2 unloaders , 2 verifiers and 2 office people. And a receiving manager. It was all monday through friday. Man it was great. We had our own little world. And then... management saw it was a great place to be and set out to destroy it , after all if workers are happy they must be made to suffer. Now so many years later receiving is a cesspool. It still echoes of the past. Very little member interaction. No time at the front end. Spending a big part of the day on a lift. Ah yes good things indeed... until the sheer volume of everything done on the dock becomes a cancer that hollows the bones of even the most stalwart ... then the dock is revealed for what it is , a nightmarish abyss where even things once so delightful bring nothing but despair...
Me, myself and I on the am shift. Since they “demoted “ the position to such a low base pay, no one wants to do it. It’s either a lateral move for them or demotion in pay. It sucks. I work M-F because of this and no one helps with claims on the weekends, so Mondays are always a treat.
3 on AM 2 of us M-F the other Tues-Sat.. Sunday no one… no deliveries no appts
We have 3 on AM and everything falls on us, unloading trailers, appts, FedEx ups, claims, liquidations, RTVs, separating consolidated, chargebacks, bills, jewelry verification, donations, transfers, etc etc
3 on am shift. Because of days off there are 2 on Monday/ Tues/ Fri and Sundays. We currently have no pm associates but we are supposed to have 2. We are a high volume club. It’s ridiculous trying to fill backroom positions. Nobody wants that flaming bag of sh-t.
